Cute, short-haired girl goes around doing good deeds for random people; this movie is the Danish Amélie.

NWR must intend for all his films (at least since Drive) to be set in some parallel universe where only neon lights exist and people barely talk and everyone smokes and wants to kill each other.

I really liked it, but I would rather see some more Pusher-esque or Valhalla Rising-type stuff, especially since he’s returned to his Danish roots after all those years in Hollywood. Just because Drive was his biggest success doesn’t mean every project that follows has to be the same. 

That being said, I will gladly watch anything this man puts out. It could literally have no dialogue or storyline, just a bunch of people squealing like pigs; as long as those juicy shots continue to be framed and lit so masterfully. 

I did start getting a little dizzy from all those rotating 360 shots. Could probably cut the run time in half if they didn’t do so much slow panning.
