One of the best sequels I've ever seen. Not sure if ToshirΕ Mifune is in more Kurosawa movies, but I hope so. What a legend.

Why are men?
First Ozu movie in colour that I've seen. Kinda unexpected to be honest, but it was as beautiful as all his other movies I've seen so far. Much love for all the pipe smoking. Setsuko Hara supremacy. Loved the mother/daughter dynamic (at least until those manipulative old fucks messed everything up. Those mfs should mind their own fucking business). Ayako a feminist icon. Yukiko too for confronting those creeps. Not enough CishΕ« RyΕ« for my taste. Saito's score is incredibly beautiful again. Lowkey giving Ghibli vibes π (sorry not sorry)
