Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

The concepts of this movie are interesting (some of them), but the execution? BORING.

I kept wondering when things were supposed to pick up- you know, when things get more tense and the stakes are raised. But this movie has no real stakes. It's a snoozefest "I'm not like other girls/boys" indie romance film with overexposed shots and cringey writing.

To the film's credit, there are some great tracking shots here and there, and a few moments feature some strong performances and decent lines. But most of it is just ehhhhhhhh.

FINALLY!!!! A movie that scared me!

The first thirty minutes did a great job at setting up the movie and building the tension! However, the writing really fell off starting around the 45 or 50 minute mark... "Oh BROTHER this guy STINKS!"

The good:
1) They handled the Plague really well. I thought that section of the movie had the best pacing, best writing, and best emotional beats.
2) The practical effects are really, really disgusting to look at, which is…

The first 30 minutes are a genuine peak example of animated storytelling. The next 30 minutes are... not as great, but still better than most of the crap being put out today.

But then you get to the last 30 minutes... 2 words, folks: FUCKIN' BIGWELD!!!! Nuff said.
