"NO CASTING TODAY"

Having seen the great The Beast with Five Fingers (1946) by Robert Florey, I checked his filmography and this silent short caught my eye.

Expressionist cutouts and silent acting are used to portray the hardships of making it in Hollywood. And, as you can tell from the title, our poor protagonist doesn't make it but, interestingly, what awaits him after death is better than his Hollywood existence.
