The length got to me at times but I bought into the story pretty hard. It was easy getting lost in Cate Blanchett’s performance. Brad Pitt is really good as well, but she steals the show.

Spent a lot of the run time thinking “huh” but also “hell yeah” so that’s a win.
Had to take a breather after the Twin Towers scene lmao.
“I watched you very carefully. Red light stop, green light go, yellow light go very fast.”
Asked my brother “is this a horror movie?” right before we started so you can imagine how surprised I was discovering it’s a sci-fi romance movie! Something different from Carpenter but he nails it. Karen Allen is brilliant and Jeff Bridges plays his part perfectly. Great stuff all around.

Every element of filmmaking is on display in Decision to Leave. It captivates you from the jump and takes you on a journey that sticks with you long after the credits roll. On top of that, it looks and sounds stunning. The use of music takes these well written scenes and great performances to another level.
