I prefer my schmaltz with a side of scary. I don’t think I can handle Flanagan without tempering the sentimental tone with darkness.
I don’t hate anything Flanagan does. It is entertaining and sometimes stylish. I just always wish it was less optimistic and sparkly about the power of humanity.
This probably says more about me than him.
