Does a more perfect movie exist? Yes but this comes close. Story, themes, and characters beautifully drawn. Melancholy and hopeful and so real….Riveting beginning to end. Got me in my heart and mind and gut. Just thrilling to watch something this good. Great Q and A with Adam Elliot and Maestro Guillermo del Toro at the Aero tonight. Met the filmmaker. He was delightful too
It’s the kind of movie that sneaks up on you, washes over you and engulfs you as you watch the characters tell the story. Full of big ideas about life and what it means to be human the story is quite intimate and beautifully told. Many familiar faces in emotionally jam packed scenarios. It’s a movie I’m still thinking about days after watching. The kind of movie you’ll want to share with someone you love. Out next year- you’ll be hearing more about this film before its release
This movie really goes for it and doesn’t hold back! Incredibly relatable message - especially as I stack up more years! Chasing beauty and youth is ruinous! We are pushed to do so by society and ourselves.. to disastrous ends! The bravery by these gals to go all in with the body horror and nudity was refreshing to me. This is our lane .. and the gals embraced it and owned it. So funny too and perfectly over the top! I think this film created a new genre… What shall we call it?
