I like it when movies force you to think and try to interpret what happened.
To me, this movie is about the things we choose to ignore in life because they benefit us in some way. I think it's clever, and I think it's bold to even try to get funding for a film like this. How the hell do you even pitch it?
I got desperate with this one... I felt no one was allowing the little girl to feel confused and most people around her seemed apathetic towards her troubled understanding of what was going on.
They wanted her to understand, but they would not stop for a second to comprehend her. She was entitled (at such a young age) to take her time to let her new normal sink in, just as the other characters were also entitled to live their own truths unapologetically.
Ego, ego, ego. Disgusting ego. Do you want to avoid awful, shitty situations in life? Beware of your ego. This mini-series is, of course, about many things. But for me, what stood up the most was the topic of ego and how it can ruin you and everybody near you.
