Bilge Ebiri’s review published on Letterboxd:
It was kind of surreal to see this in a brand new, restored 35mm print projected on the huge screen of the Academy Museum’s fancy new theater, with a variety of dignitaries giving speeches beforehand. Once upon a time, Pasolini films were so hard to find and so obscure (even disreputable) that I had to chuckle a little. It did look amazing. I’ve seen this movie maybe five or six times over the years, and it’s never looked anything like this.
