The karmic cycle repeats itself. An ouroboros of violence and exploitation begetting more of themselves. Lose yourself in the artifice of heroics to only see a fiend in the mirror.

Whooooooo-EEEEEEE did this one really rock. All too familiar territory of a Crime film showing that Authority desires to share the same nature as the Criminals they swear to defend against. Ego, Id, and jealousy collide into self-destruction of nearly 1/2 of the cast. Wang Chung score is fucking EXCELLENT, booming Bass Synths and reverbed electronic Drums dimed ALL the way out. Wear gloves while handling, filled to brim with grease balls.

Highly reccomended.

The proliferation of affordable synthesizers entering the market and maturation of the home video recording industry truly made the 80s a special era of low budget creativity. I know most guys in unwashed Friday The 13th shirts and denim vests festooned with various IP will often expel this same statement ad infinitum, truly punishing whatever erby isn't repulsed by their presence. Thaf said, it is refreshing to engage with such a liberated era. No prestige, no bullshit, just gore.

Seeing this on the big screen with the theater's booming stereo system really made me appreciate the industrial Musique Concrete soundscape in a way I hadn't before. What was previously a low din of howling winds and scraping metal was now a cacophonic scream from the belly of a broken city. Decaying urban isolation synthesized into aural punishment.

I picked a helluva week to switch my Anti-Anxietal meds and to go see this.

A woman inadvertently self immolates, stakes a vampire and herself, and then dies. I said "Oh hell yeah" out loud at my screening. Great night at the movies.

More than 1 brain cell take away, a slick dark fairytale that wasn't afraid to completely embrace the fantastic. Time dilation dancing, Vampire Irish jig hymnal rituals, echoes of the past diegetically piped into current reality.

The most confidently pro-pussy eating film I've seen not on my Incognito tab.
