an empty soulless cashgrab of a vanity project that half heartedly tries to portray the weeknd as a #messedup-freak but can’t really commit and so the final product is an extended version of one of those fake-provocative VCRs they show in between songs at a concert to buy time for an outfit change. if you needed to see the weeknd aura farming at the bar in front of a wind up cow toy and barry keoghan as a weird homoerotic…

never seen a queer film that’s so unabashedly furious omg… an ode to feeling at odds w ur identity in every way possible that’s amplified by 4000x w the inherent grittiness that every second 2000s aussie film seems to possess. truly goated addition to the very limited but impactful wog cinema canon that is always gonna hit home for me 🚬🚬

this is very much a 2 hour uniqlo ad but the script is NASSSTTYY and the (homo) eroticism and love triangle fuckery is sickening. if ur not a trent reznor and atticus ross lover, u will suffer bc they will start blasting those synths mid-scene so loud u can’t hear the dialogue. i will give $50 to whoever can define the visual style in one word bc the cinematographer rocked up on set inspired as hell and kinda just integrated…
