Can’t laughing this hard at a film in a long while. About 15% of my laughs were at the very few actually genuinely funny jokes in this & the other 85% were at how unbelievably shit it is. Completely abandons the source material at random. Had such a great time. Isn’t that what the movies are about?
This was fucking incredible. Chazelle is 3/3. Three hours and every single minute is gripping and has something unique to say. I also can not believe my dad actually enjoyed this film, it’s not his thing at all but that probably speaks to the quality of this
I will say this is one of the weirdest films I’ve ever seen in that I fucking loved every second of it but also every negative criticism of it I completely understand. Apart from anyone who criticised the ending. The ending was cool as fuck
A technical marvel. Incredible score from Goransson, impeccably acted from everyone involved but the highlights were definitely Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt, all of which will 100% get Oscar nominations and should be winners.
Nolan’s exploration of the devastation the creation of the atomic bomb had & continues to have on humanity is harrowing. Brought me to tears twice. The best film of 2023, the decade and one of the best I can seeing in a very long time. Everyone should see it in cinemas whilst they can
