I just refuse to buy into the concept that all of Wes Anderson’s movies are the same. They all work for me in their own ways and I think his later works have been some of his most philosophical. Overstays its welcome just a bit in the end but I enjoyed the journey to get there.
Mia Threapleton is a star and I hope Michael Cera is inducted into the Wes crew now because he fits in so perfectly here.
There are multiple points in this where Del Toro’s voiceover sounded exactly like in Hackman in Tenenbaums and it felt like home!
