I saw a Tweet before on how Mickey 17 was a love story. While watching, I thought, "How could this be true?" but by the end, I was convinced.

Obviously, it's more than that as well. Characteristic of Bong Joon Ho, it's a criticism of our current political systems and leaders. But there's also something to be said about Nasha's loving all 17 versions of him, all the different parts of him, even the ones he knows the least about.…

sure, sure. it's a story about how deeply we crave connections, how we desperately wish we could reach out with our fingertips and close that 0,01cm of space to create a new branch in our story that we don't know how it'll end. i get it.
but.
i personally did not enjoy the movie. perhaps it's true that such feelings can only be evoked by whimsical scenes and unnatural storylines. and perhaps it's true that the quirks of the characters…

watching this on national day added an extra touch, i think, of the significance of this day. in today's day and age where trust in governments dwindle and digital communications proliferate political ideas in rapid ways never-before-seen, an interesting phenomena/ question rises: what are patriotism levels of the younger generation (of any country)? how might we increase it - and why would we have interest in doing so?
