CharlesYang’s review published on Letterboxd:
I have a thing for vampire flicks. And Interview stands with the best of them. Tom Cruise as Lestat is main attraction here, reveling in his undeath while Brad Pitt as Louis is more restrained. Understandable given the circumstances. Then there is Kristen Dunst's Claudia who brings up the oft unexplored subject of children embraced into the unlife. Physically a child forever but a grown adult in her own mind, it's this whole idea of the vampire existing in a broken family that appeals to me. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.
It shys short of perfection because there is a certain weariness the film sets into near the end and then, Louis the titular vampire cuts off the interview abruptly. The melancholic tone however gives the film a certain taste that makes me want to give it a watch every few years.
A diamond in the rough drifting within a sea of vampire media.
