LETTERBOXD Showdown #1 - Most remarkable directorial debuts

LETTERBOXD aims to collect and inspire best-of lists across a wide range of film topics, so each week, they'll suggest the topic and the tag, and we as will create our best-of list and they’ll bring them all together into a fancy new page once they have a few under their belt.

debut Letterboxd Showdown is about the most Remarkable Debuts.

The first 10 in my list feature the debuts of directors which made a big impact on their first film and I still follow them today and they have not disappointed: Spike Jonze, Steve McQueen, Darren Aronofsky, Quentin Tarantino, the Coen brothers, Christopher Nolan, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Danny Boyle, Tom Ford and Ben Affleck who is a much better director than an actor (I have not seen his last film yet). The others are films that really impressed me and happen to be directorial debuts, but I have not consciously followed their work since.
