The Marvels

Even with the needfully boring and wildly disappointing Secret Invasion series attached to this story, it's still probably my favorite series of stories within the Universe. For me, Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel are two of the best MCU entires, so I definitely expected to enjoy this.

The chemistry between Brie Larson and Iman Vellani is incredibly wholesome and definitely elevated an already impressive film.

The visuals weren't as good as I expected, but they were still respectable and pretty…

Once again, probably my favorite animation style to date. Everything about the aesthetic of this movie is insanely alluring, topped off with a super satisfying story for comic fans and MCU fans alike. No fuckin' notes.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

2023

While most of the characters are written and played nicely, the script in general is drenched in cliche and predictability. It's a fun watch, but it's just way too cookie cutter at this point. I've always felt like most Marvel movies have a stale, regurgitated nature to them, but this one may be the worst.

Paul Rudd and Kathryn Newton are both really good in this, but their parts in the film felt like more of a sub-plot, because Michelle…

Ant-Man

2015

★★ Watched

As expected from a comic book story, there are countless cliches stuffed into the plot, and the humor is obvious which probably was more acceptable in 2015. Nonetheless that means the movie didn't age well. Also, super lame villain who's on screen for like 10 total minutes.

But I do like Paul Rudd.

Hopefully these Ant Man movies will get better as they go.

Werewolf by Night

A 50 minute s black and white with some nice killing and action. But it was overly cheesy, until the killing starts. Then back to cheesy. The blood flips, however, were fuckin' cool.

A total of 11ish minutes of this were good.

Not surprised the letterboxd elite are obsessed with this.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

Don't get me wrong, Tatiana Maslany is super charming and incredibly likable, but this role didn't make much sense to me. All the 4th wall breaks and behind the marvel curtain bits were a bit of a turn off.

I didn't like the idea that Jen's character is not traditionally attractive, but turning into She-Hulk makes her attractive and makes men interested in her. Doesn't connect for me and I felt like it was a weird part of being a…

Ms. Marvel

It moves a little slow for my taste, but it's a really good super-hero origin story nonetheless. The visuals were super impressive as Kamala's powers in the comic book were represented beautifully onscreen.

We've come along way to have this kind of cultural diversity in this kind of film. I love to see it.

Moon Knight

Easily the most entertaining story in MCU thus far. Oscar Isaac is ridiculously good in this series, displaying range that only the best thespians in the world can achieve. Also, Ethan Hawke basically reinvented himself with his role.

I understand it's an origin story, and like I said it was very entertaining, but we got to see very little of the actual Moon Knight. That's pretty disappointing.

Ladies and gentlemen, fan service 👏 👏 👏
This is one of the most satisfying films I've ever watched, and I'm just a casual spider-man fan who's not real big on the MCU.

Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin has to be in discussion for the best on-screen villain of all time. That fuckin' grin man.

The vfx were mostly appealing, and the acting was pretty top notch, but the story in and of itself is just full of unexplained nuance. It's definitely entertaining, just slightly hard to follow for the first few acts.
