My all-time favourite Christmas film, had to be the first one I watched this year. I love everything from the animation to the story, and how James McAvoy brings this funny character to life. There's load of little clever nods and easter eggs which I think is nice to look out for. The cast is also pretty incredible!

Not sure how or why Jack Frost became a central character but I'm not angry about Martin Short's involvement. I would however say that it is my least favourite of the three. I didn't like how the character of Curtis had progressed in this film, and how frustrating it was to watch everything go wrong. Apart from that, still a fun film, just maybe not as festive as the other two.

Normally not a fan of sequels but I worked my way right through this film series, loving each one as it came along. I loved the fact that the story grew, and that instead of turning into Santa, he was reverting back to Scott. I love the addition of Lucy and her relationship with Scott. Not sure if it beats the first film but I definitely enjoyed it.

A unique idea for a Christmas film and one that I loved. I thought it was so funny to see Scott transform into Santa Claus. It was heart-breaking to see Charlie taken away from his dad but then so heart-warming when they were reunited with the whole family knowing the truth. A bit outdated with the special effects but a very enjoyable Christmas film.

An interesting concept. A lot of it was predictable but still very tense at times. Definitely want to watch the rest of the film series.

Shot for shot remake of Brokeback Mountain really, only with a happy ending and set in the UK. Was an alright film, but all I could think about was Brokeback Mountain and the similarities.

This didn't feel like a documentary at all, more like a stylised film. Alot of the scenes with the young boy felt very staged and scripted. Some of the images in this film were horrific and something that I wouldn't have wanted to see. I didn't feel like I learnt much from the documentary as such unlike other documentaries which are full of facts, figures and interviews. I can't say I enjoyed this, nor would I watch it again. It was very upsetting.

I love the psychological thriller genre, and this was a very good film in my opinion. I was not expecting the Victory project to be a simulation - from the short flashbacks i thought she would be in modern day and there was a cult like group who had created this 1950's society. The aesthetic of the film was beautiful, the setting and the cars as well as the costumes. There were some plot holes as such, things that weren't explained or would need deeper analysis/rewatch to understand. What were the point of the earthquakes? What was the significance of the red plane? Florence Pugh's acting like always was incredible. Alice's breakdown during the realisation of what was happening was executed so well by Pugh. Harry Styles acting was questionable at times, alone it would have been okay but it's nothing against Pugh's talent. The soundtrack of this film was brilliant, and the chanting was so eery but worked so well. I can't wait to rewatch this film knowing the ending and the full picture to see what I didn't pick up on the first time. Worth the wait to watch and so glad I got to see it in a cinema atmosphere rather than streaming

A brilliant but heart-breaking film. Gave an insight into what was happening in care homes during the pandemic and was so raw and emotional. Jodie Comer is fantastic as always and it was great to see Stephen Graham in a different role. I don't think I've ever seen a film that portrays a character with early onset Alzheimer's so that was interesting. The score was so dramatic and created such a tense atmosphere, which only added to the chaos of the film. I did not expect Sarah to take Tony away from the home and when he was separated from her it broke me. A very good film.

I thought Elliot Page was brilliant in this film as well as Allison Janney. Both gave such a powerful performance. The story was well built and during the train chase was very tense. What I didn't expect was for Margot to Tallulah at the end, but the relationship they created throughout was beautiful.

I found this film so deeply upsetting and distressing. The graphic rape scenes were awful to watch. Away from that element, I thought the storyline was good, and like how the tension was sustained with the two timelines running parallel. It was slightly predictable at times. The last film I watched Mila Kunis in was a comedy, so it was good to see her in a different genre. I'm not a fan of constant narrative voiceover but did like when that narration from inside her head (I assume) broke into a real conversation with Luke's Aunt. The shooting scene was also awful to watch, so intense and blunt in its delivery - again very upsetting.

This was actually a very well shot film and didn't need dialogue to help it. I like how the first and last shot were mirrored. The only thing I didn't like was the shaky camera effect.

I think this is one of my new favourite films. I loved how it was all one take, made it feel so real and I actually forgot I was watching a film - it was like I was in the situations. It also made the time so quickly. I knew that Andy was obviously struggling in his personal life, but it really did shock me when he was drinking and taking drugs. I would've liked to see more of the interactions with the restaurant staff and Table 7 and how they dealt with that as the night went on. The cliff hanger of not knowing what happened to Andy was great and I did want to know more. A huge credit to all of the actors as it was more like acting in a play than a film due to the one long take. Very impressive.

I really liked the style of this film. It took a while for the main plot to truly begin I thought, and then the story really didn't go in the direction I thought it would. It was a complete escalation from when Cleo became pregnant, with how the ex-boyfriend reacted and then his involvement in the violent protest. The still born scene was heart-breaking and so drawn out - it made it powerful but also really traumatic to watch. There were multiple times where I thought the film was going to conclude, such as the still birth, and the rescue from the sea. That was also a very tense scene to watch and again I thought it was going to be a different outcome.

Wouldn't say there was much of a storyline to this film, and I was quite confused. I assume all three stories are linked, and if that's the case I didn't clock on until the last story. Thought it was quite boring.

Bizarre short film. Obviously, the graphics aren't great. You can definitely tell it's from Nolan even in such a short, non-verbal narrative. Nice to see where he started to where he is now.

I thought this was a well-done film. I wish I hadn't known what Kevin had done before watching the film and was able to piece things together myself but was still a completely moving film. I did not expect for him to have killed his father and sister that was a complete shock. I only clocked onto it when the house was empty and back door was open. I think I assumed Franklin had left Eva. I still don't quite understand why Kevin killed Franklin as it was his best relationship in the household, or why suddenly Eva and Kevin are civil, or have a proper bond at the end once he's committed such a crime.

They managed to take a very basic plot and make it somewhat watchable. I was shocked when Bruno was working at his age. The actor playing Bruno carried the film for me, such a great performance for such a young actor, comedic and emotional too. I thought that Antonio wasn't the best father - I understood that the bicycle was vital for them to live, but when he thought Bruno had fallen into the river I believed he would have this change of outlook and think he has his family and believes himself to be lucky because of it. At first I thought the ending was disappointing but on reflection I like the simplicity of it and the tone it leaves the film on. Very fitting and a harsh reality. One thing that really annoyed me however, was when Antonio stole the bike. Firstly, I thought while not morally right, that would've been a quicker and easier solution for him than searching all of Rome for a bike. But it would've made so much more sense for him to steal a bike from the big crowd (unless they were locked down and that's why he didn't?). He essentially became just like the people who took his life line away, ironic in a sense, and that the title to me now doesn't make me think of who stole his bike, but of him stealing another's.

A very well crafted film. I did occasionally get confused with who was who, when they found the first girl I thought it was the girl who had been kidnapped, I'm not sure if that was the intention. But Hannibal is one of cinema's cleverest villains in how he managed to escape his cell. I found a lot of scenes quite disturbing which I expected. There's no surprise as to why Anthony Hopkins won Best Actor for this film, he managed to create such an iconic, horrific villain. I love how the film was left and already wanting to watch the second.

I thought this was a beautifully shot film. To start it was a little slow, but still had a good enough plot to keep you interested. I also liked how the storyline had several layers to it rather than just the pure romance storyline, such as Sophie's pregnancy, the forbidden love, and the false pretences of the the artist Marianne being a companion. Because it was such a slow burn and short lived affair, you could of assumed that they did not have that much of an effect on one another, but that final scene of the orchestra really showed that the two changed each other. I also liked how that scene was one take, you could see the raw emotions as they happened. A very good film.

Watched a screening of this followed by a Q&A with Director Brett Harvey, Producers Simon Harvey and Kingsley Marshall, as well as Actress Chloe Endean and student of the camera crew.

Firstly, I really enjoyed this film. Brett Harvey took a simple concept of a drive home and managed to create a emotional reaction from the audience. Personally, I did not realise Leah had ed away until I saw the sympathy cards near the end, but when I think back on the film there were certain things that did drop hints such as Leah's lack of communication with others. I felt sorry for David, even before I realised the twist, but that only deepened that sympathy. The use of slow motion in some of the scenes was beautiful, especially with the beautiful back drops. The score and soundtrack to this film did fit perfectly I thought. It was also interesting to hear what was happening behind the scenes after at the Q&A and what happens on a film set, the problems that do come up and how to overcome them. It was also insightful to hear about the writing process and how the storyline can often change, and how the pandemic did effect production. A stylistic choice I really appreciated was how Leah's death was never explicitly acknowledged. It cuts out that unnecessary dialogue of something the characters already know, therefore there would be no need for them to go back over that conversation. It made me as an audience member feel more involved in the scene, being shown that information subtly rather than told. I would definitely want to watch this film again now knowing the ending and explore how that changes my viewing experience and relationship with each character.

I loved the concept of this film, it really did feel like a piece of theatre. Yet towards the end I was slightly confused. It was when they conversation repeated. I'm still unclear to me if she was ever driving Aziza or if it was her just pretending. I think I may need to rewatch it to really understand or read further into the film. Either way, my rating is based on how much I enjoyed the theatrical side of it when they are "driving the car underneath the car park.

On first look, I thought this would be quite a boring film, especially with it being so short. Yet it manages to convey many emotions effectively in 17 minutes, and gets a reaction from you as the viewer. I did like how the character had an ark and maybe not forgave her father, but saw him in a different light as she cleaned the room away. I also thought the score was good for such a short film.

It was funny to see a completely satire version of Sherlock Holmes. I think Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly ae such a good comedic duo. It was ironic that they, Americans playing Brits were telling a Brit playing an American all the things wrong with America. I was surprised when they burst into a musical number - both are actually pretty good singers, and you could see all the musical numbers that inspired it. I found the nods to modern day life such as the "self-photograph" quite clever. The British cast was great, some stars that may not be known as well overseas which was nice. I didn't expect Mrs Hudson to be the killer, nor have any relation to Moriarty. A good film with funny moments.

A sweet rom com. I felt so bad for Reuben throughout. Even though Hank Azaria had a small part I do think he is a very talented actor. The way he creates these weird characters and transforms. It's hard to imagine that he plays David in Friends as well as Gargamel in the Smurfs. I wouldn't say it is my favourite rom com, I think there is definitley better ones. When Polly finds the risk assessment list all I could think about was how Rachel found Ross' list in Friends.

Spent half the time confused if it was set in the early 2000's or 1980's. I loved the opening titles and how unique it was. Featured a good soundtrack. For the first half of the film, I didn't think there was much of a plot, and a slightly weak, jumpy one in the second half. But it still was funny at times.

Found this film really hard hitting but beautiful. I forgot that it was based on a true story so when they brought up the video of Nai Nai and said she was still alive I was so happy.

I still struggle to understand the concept of this film - I understand the stories are separate but I cannot understand if the house has the same history with all of them (I'm guessing not due to the different universes). The first story was at times terrifying. Not visually as such, but the fact that the parents were in this trance where they completely disregarded their children. The second story was the most comedic but turned very grim. I didn't even click that the two visitors that wouldn't leave represented the bugs until near the end. I found the last story maybe the most boring of the three, but it also was missing that dark element of the other two which was a nice change. All three were completely bizarre and yet I was hooked. I liked seeing this style of animation and design too, quite unique.

Another classic John Hughes movie, something you cannot go wrong with. I love John Candy and the energy he brought to the character. I think Macaulay Culkin is one of the best child actors to have ever worked. That scene where Miles asks Buck question after question - Culkin pulls it off.

Was a nice rewatch, always forget which Ice Age film is which and I have never watched them in order so I must do that now that they are on Disney+. It's just a nice, nostalgic, family feel good film. Obviously being 20 years old, the animation can be a little outdated but nothing noticeable. I never realised that Manny had a family before the events of the first film, I feel it's something that (from memory) is skimmed past in the rest of the franchise. There is also a good soundtrack behind this film.

I did not enjoy this movie unfortunately. I thought it was going to be another 80's classic that I adored but it was far from it. Firstly, I cannot hear that opening theme without hearing Dustin and Suzy from Stranger Things singing it. I'll give credit to some of the special effects. While it is definitely outdated, some of the puppeteer work is remarkable for the time, although, the speech and mouth movements rarely matched up. I thought the story was somewhat boring and thought there would be more of a link between the real world and Fantasia. I have to say, the death of the horse was a little traumatic. I know that if I had watched this as a small child, every character would have terrified me. I felt it was slow and boring so wouldn't give it another watch.

What a beautiful short film. The score was just perfect and worked to help carry the narrative due to the lack of dialogue. I'm not sure why the group of boys were so intent on getting the balloon when clearly the city had plenty of them. It was visually perfect when all the balloons were floating up in the sky. I wish we knew if Pascal ever came down from the sky again. Sometimes I completely forgot it was a 1950's film. A sweet little film.

I did enjoy this film. It was weird to see Julia Stiles playing 1950's women with 1950's morals - I can only ever see her as Kat Stratford, and those two characters are polar opposites. I thought each one of the actresses gave a good performance and had good chemistry with one another. While I feel sorry for Betty, I don't think she deserved forgiveness from Catherine or Connie.

A chaotically charming film filled with humour. There was something very beautiful behind the film and the family dynamic they had. I loved the pushing of the car each time and especially that end scene of the pushing. Along with the score which I thought was beautiful. I really did not know how to feel when they decided to take Edwin with them. A very good film, Abigail Breslin deserves real credit for such a good performance at such a young age.

I hadn't realised this film was based on a Stephen King novel, but it does make sense seeing how many of his classic elements are involved - an isolated troubled writer. There were many tells that Mort was Shooter that I picked up on after it was revealed, the constant talking to himself being one. I had a thought that he may have been Shooter after nobody had seen Shooter but him. I liked the ending as such. I'm not sure if like is the right word, but it was a change to see the antagonist win as such, and not have the tables turn last minute.

An okay film, very predictable like a lot of this genre are. I thought Kunis and Timberlake had good chemistry together. Didn't like the whole flash mob element but that's just my opinion.

Now this may be one of the most beautiful films ever, and by far one of my favourites. Everything about it is perfect. The chemistry that Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson have and how the fantasy elements and realistic elements blend so well that you don't even question it. It is just such a pure and wholesome film. The scene where they are sat in the restaurant having dinner in the dark was a great artistic choice. I love how that was kept blacked out completely so you could imagine how the scene looked. The score is the most beautiful score ever, especially over the top of such a picturesque location. Normally I'm not a fan of narration of the top of films, but it works so well. I love how fun Tim and Mary's relationship is too. The singing and dancing down the aisle, the proposal in bed (which I thought was completely romantic). I quite honestly break down by the end of the film, it goes from that fun comfort of the table tennis to the very quick goodbye, so heart breaking. It makes me laugh and cry and is a film I will always, always come back to. I love it!

I have mixed thoughts about this film. I'll start with what I liked. First of all, you cannot go wrong with Meryl Streep. She can sing for sure, some of the notes she hit were incredible. And the way she dances you forget that she is in her 70's. Some of the songs I enjoyed especially "Dance with you" - both Ariana DeBose and Jo Ellen Pellman did amazingly, and to think that DeBose was in 3 major musical adaptations in 2020/2021. I thought the use of colour in this film was magnificent. Very much over the top but very much necessary. at some points, it was nice to have that lack of realism and more stage production, like in Chicago (2002). But there was also a lot of things I did not like. Firstly, Nicole Kidman's character Angie came out of no where and Andrew Rannells's Trent just ed their group. Despite all the debate with his films, I often love watching James Corden, however, I was disappointed with his performance in this film. Something about it felt very much like an average school performance. I did find a lot of it cringe and predicable. And the script at times felt very poor, full of clichés and not always delivered greatly by the actors. Some of the songs I did not enjoy and the group dance numbers made it feel like a flash mob rather than a musical number. All in all, it was average. I don't think I'd watch it again by choice, but I am happy that I have "Dance with you" stuck in my head. Both their vocals are beautiful.

I liked the simplicity of the films narrative and thought the core cast worked extremely well together. Three out of four of them have money and these seemingly good lives, but each of the friends know their lives aren't perfect. While I did like how real it felt, I did also think that there was nothing really to move the plot along. And I felt as though nothing had been resolved by the end, it wasn't even a cliff hanger as such we just left in the middle. It did let me down slightly, but at least it's another film off the list.

I can't say I completely got it but there was something so chaotically beautiful about this. My favourite visuals were when the performers were on the white floor dressed in black, that contrast alone was perfect with how clean their movements were. It was such a contrast as well to see something so stark to the previous scene. What was clever about that sequence though is how your perspective was messed with. I had no idea the floor was tilted until it became obvious. In the second half of the film, the music was more delicate and somewhat emotional if you like. The movements became less frantic and this "love story" or however you wish to interpret became more of the focus. I loved when they ran towards the light and smoke, the two main characters dancing softly while the others still had their jagged movements. Like I said before, I don't know how I would fully interpret this project, but I did think it was good. The choreography was incredible, truly what made it for me.

An alright film, quite suspenseful at times. The thing that really got me was the end twist where Chloe was then drugging Diane. I always think Sarah Paulson plays sinister characters really well. A good film, but not one that I feel I'd have to watch again.

Melissa McCarthy never disappoints and this film was no different. She was hilarious. I love how Sandra Bullock can play comedic roles as well as the more serious dramas. I thought there was quite a few good elements. I did have my suspicions about who Larkin was, and did guess that the agent was a mole at least, he was just too quiet. The chaos of this film is what made it for me.

All I'll say is seeing shooting stars while watching this heightened the experience

In my opinion, this was a beautiful and moving film. The way the script was written and dialogue performed was great, somewhat reminded me of the script from the play "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time". I knew from when we first met the renter that he was Oskar's Grandfather, but had no idea his mother was following his every move, that element was heart-warming. Distressing to watch at times but a well crafted film.

I'm not quite sure how one is meant to interpret this film. I can't say I read into it before watching. The only thing I knew is that Winslet won the Oscar for Best Actress in this film so I assumed it would be good. At first, I thought it would be a love story, then very quickly came to realise that it was most definitely not. It was a very bizarre relationship. Then when I thought that was it, there was the added plot that she had been a Nazi. I think that Winslet did give a good performance

An alright film, not as good as some other cult classics. I have to say that some of the acting wasn't all that great, but bearable. The animation was laughable but then again it is a late 90's film. The poor animation probably made the Mummy scarier than it was meant to be. One scene I did love though, was when the city collapsed and the trio were running in front of the huge dust clouds. It hasn't gripped my attention so much that I'm dying to see the rest of the series however.

Absolutely chaotic movie. I'm still not quite sure how they got away with a lot of it. Has been a while since I watched the original film so I cannot judge which I preferred. A lot of dark jokes, some maybe too far, but Sacha Baron Cohen will always push the limits.

Amazing cast. Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep's performances were absolutely incredible - so powerful. There were so many twists and secrets in the family, like one after another. The opening titles were really satisfying to me and the score at times was beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed this film, the performances truly made it.
