***director’s cut***
Pretty ridiculous and cheap, but respectably melancholy and earnest. Super fun, stacked cast. Sparks, miniatures, and even a touch of claymation.
The highlight, hands down, are the ears on Cap’s mask. For some reason, instead of there being ear holes, there are just rubber human ears attached to the outside of the mask. My guess is the holes irritated the actor. I couldn’t tell what I was looking at at first, but when I realized what it was it became the most fascinating thing.
And that says it all. This movie is not a movie so much as it’s a fascination.
RIP Albert Pyun.
