A lovely re-doing of the animated title of the same name.  Halle’s vocals and overall presence elevate (to me) an already heady romantic tale. Leads’ chemistry was amazing. I could lose a finger in one of Jonah Hauer-King’s dimples. Daveed Diggs’ Caribbean accent was terrible (I’m sorry Daveed you know I love you). The king was fine as fuck but I didn’t buy his performance until the end.

A fun time. Saturated and clever color schemes, poignant (yet somewhat white feminist coded - derogatory) commentary on Western gender norms and patriarchy, and a jaunty beat or two to make it go down easy. Pleasant watch, if occasionally too on the nose.
