Revisited on Sun NXT.

Two reasons why I skipped the theatrical re-release:

1) Watched in theatre on original release itself back in 2007, @ Anjali theatre, Trivandrum - which was then the biggest screen in SL theatre complex (now Aries Plex SL Cinemas).

2) Not gonna fall for this ongoing trend of re-releases unless (a) it’s a Thalapathy படம் 🤩, or (b) I’ve missed the film in theatre on original release.

I was in my first year in college when…

Not just a Mani Ratnam படம், but a (Mani Ratnam + A. R. Rahman + P. C. Sreeram) சம்பவம் ❤️

There’s something distinctively charming about the many turn-of-the-millennium Tamil/Malayalam urban romantic films, and Mani Ratnam, with the aid of P. C. “Nothing… is written.”

M:I-2 ain’t the only bad M:I film anymore.

If not for that terrific aerial stunt in the final act (an instant callback to Octopussy), I’d have definitely rated this lazy-ass excuse of an entry with less than 2 stars.

Heavy-handed with never-ending expositions (Dead Reckoning had those in the right meter at least) and stacked with dull & plodding set pieces for 90% of the godawful running time clocking in at around 3 hours (the entire…

Watched FDFS (9:30 a.m. show).

How do I put it? Okay. Imagine a film where the first half is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, but the second half by Gautham Vasudev Menon.

Essentially, it is The Godfather on steroids, from Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

Phenomenal performances by everyone. And Ranbir Kapoor chewed the scenery, literally like an Animal, but in a good way, as the script and the character demanded it.

The problem is that, after a first half that is packed with crowd-pleasing…
