I think Heretic would've been much better as a kind of thriller comedy where an edgy, over-confident atheist elaborately fucks with door-to-door missionaries for an hour and a half and lets them go, rather than turning into what we got -- an unfocused, psycho-killer, pseudo-mindfuck thing that gets lost in its own weeds.
It's still entertaining for the most part, especially with Hugh Grant's dryly humorous performance, but funnily enough, it loses more of its steam once it goes into more overt horror territory..

Man, it's no wonder Tippett was sought out for Jurassic Park. Prehistoric Beast is a wonderfully made short, oozing with atmosphere and rich sound design, and above all else, containing some of the most impressive small-scale stop-motion animation I've seen in a film of this format.
