The movie itself? Terrible.
The experience of watching it, in at most 480p, on a projector, while it cuts out or buffers for a couple of seconds every 5 minutes, in a cuddle puddle of autistic trans girls during the wind down phase of a kink event? Transcendent.

The sound of half a dozen sleepy voices repeating "General Chungus..." in varying tones of disbelief, choked amusement and despair is definitely something I'm going to and giggle about for a while.

This is one of those movies I probably would've *loved* as a kid if I'd watched it within a few years of release (kind of surprised I never did, considering how deep in the Trek obsession I was even then).

Watching it properly now for the first time, it's mostly just 'fine', but I could definitely see it feeling much less dated in '99. It's corny and a lot of the humour is just kinda cringe, but I still had a better time watching this than I did Star Trek '09 or Into Darkness, there's that too.

Alan Rickman is fucking great as always too.
