Fucking love movies that are movies. Make me feel literally every emotion known to man, show pretty images with magnificent music, and make me ask questions to understand what they wanted to say. Loudest I’ve heard a theater this year (that wasn’t an early access college screening of a Ryan Gosling Comedy), quietest I’ve heard a theater at an ending.
Glad this led me into my twenties.
Definitely the weakest Bong film I’ve seen so far, but not bad by any sense of the imagination. The camerawork and Bong’s direction (for the most part—why was the chase music some salsa music type beat) were impeccable as always, I really liked how he approached the ALF part of the narrative and commentary, there was a good amount of energy present here, and the guy unmasking himself to reveal he’s Paul Dano was peak.
