Not to be over dramatic or anything. But this might just be the greatest thing Spielbergs ever directed.

Just finished Season Two.

I honestly have nothing to say about this movie.

It’s good. It’s exactly what I thought it was going to be. 

But I feel as though in a year I won’t think about this and it will be ed as an odd relic of cinema history.

I have not seen this level of control in an English speaking film in a very long time. The film bathed in singular shots that bring tears to my eyes, it’s choices are so precise and driven that the only word I can use to describe the film is vulnerable. It’s an overused word but I have a limited vocabulary and I simply don’t think another word fully begins to describe it. It is films like this that show the powers of an auteur. This is a singular expression, it feels untainted and profound. And it’s my favourite film of the year so far.
