just so haunting. twin peaks s1 and s2 (watch those before watching this btw) have a certain warmness to counteract the underlying darkness of the series, but this film is much more grim in ways i didn't expect
laura's story is devastating, having that unthinkable evil so close to her and being consumed by the trauma that brings. sheryl lee plays her so well, you can really feel her pain. really helps that lynch is excellent at filling scenes with dread, and this film just does that nonstop. also, beautiful visuals and score as always
