draggy, quirky and disappointing. Blackmail directed by Abhinay Deo starts off strong with an engaging premise and a captivating first act that teases a darkly comedic take on love, betrayal and revenge. Initially the story draws you in with intrigue and clever humor creating a sense of expectation that it’ll deliver something truly memorable especially considering Deo's earlier success with Delhi Belly. However as the plot unfolds it begins to feel needlessly prolonged dragging on for far too long given the simplicity of the story premise.

Pitch black humour hardly seen in a Hindi film, worked out just fine for me.
It has sort of a neon lit crammi-ness to it.
Irrfan, Arunoday Singh are terrific.
The only flaw being that there were a few plot treads left open for no reason at all, giving an unsatisfying ending to the film.

I can't believe this film went completely unnoticed at the time of it's release. A delicious black comedy where each twist had me cheering with gusto. Only minor blip is the runtime which could have been shorter. Irrfan Khan you beauty 😎

Has issues that mostly deal with plot points that make no sense and characters that seem to make sense on paper but not on screen, Blackmail still makes for a crackling black comedy. I mean, a film that starts with a song on masturbation automatically gets a 'heads-up' from me. It's just 20 minutes too long from being a great time.

The film is a tad too long!

In conclusion, Blackmail further explores a genre of comedy that was only tickled by Delhi Belly. The film is heady, hedonistic, cocky and compelling but not without its flaws. Yet, it manages to strike the right chord with the audience without having to associate with any stereotypical aspects of comedy.
