When you think of Shakespeare, you probably think of something like an Olivier production. The costumes are very extravagant and 17th century; the actors stomp around with purpose to commandingly say their lines; the sets, while quite studio-backdrop-y, are eloquent and colorfully constructed; and it even starts out as a stage show before it transitions into a more cinematic production.

I can't believe how well this movie holds up. In a time where it seems like every MCU film I watch is just rushing from one moment to another, I'm amazed by how patient this movie is. Moments and character motivations are given room to breathe; the focus is always on Peter Parker's journey and less on the flashy effects or anything like that.
