Oklahoma!

1999

★★★★★ Rewatched

As a theatre kid who ignored most Golden Age musicals, I used to naively brush off Oklahoma! as just another boring, old fashioned show with one dimensional characters. Man, was I wrong! Despite my lack of enthusiasm for the show, I decided to audition for a local production in 2018 and was cast as Ali Hakim. Little did I know that this show would change my life for the better. To this day, I have yet to perform in anything nearly as…

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker

2000

★★★★ Rewatched

I decided to rewatch this classic in honor of the great Kevin Conroy, whose ing was announced today. Every single Batman fan will tell you that Kevin will forever be the definitive Batman voice, and they’re 100% correct. I rewatched this film specifically because it is my favorite work among Kevin’s career. Grahame in particular gives one…

The Pharaoh is one of my all time dream roles! I can’t believe he’s played by Zack and Codys’ dad, but he stole the show. Such a guilty pleasure musical. 😭

I genuinely find this to be one of the most surreal and fascinating pieces of media to ever exist. I’ve probably watched every behind the scenes video about the making of this production 😂 highly recommend watching the YouTube documentaries and interviews on Pokémon Live. But yeah it’s probably about as good it could’ve been considering the constraints of corporate theatre, their 4 month time frame, and the source material
