The Gorge may not be a great movie, but it’s certainly a breath of fresh air. I was expecting a generic creature feature with strong leads, but instead got a compelling romance with a creature feature background and a bit of several other genres as well.

The script may be lacking, but Taylor-Joy and Teller put this film on their backs. They definitely make the middle portion of the film the strongest, where I found myself grinning ear to…

Journey to My Top 25: I’ve watched this way more times than I’ve logged it lol.

“Physical evidence can tell a clear story with a forked tongue.”

You’d think that with this being one of my all-time favorites, that I would have given it a proper review before now. I have a feeling this will get rambly, so prepare yourself for a crazy word count or quit reading now.

I don’t really have much to add here. I will say I thought it was gonna be more bafflingly awful based on what I’d heard, but I just thought it was incredibly boring. The dialogue is rough, the story is hardly that, and we have talented actors and actresses doing absolutely nothing.

As someone who quite literally grew up with this show (born the year it premiered), I completely acknowledge that this franchise has lost its way and should have ended long ago as the creator wished. But this actually surprised me.

Plankton: The Movie is clearly still a flawed film, but it’s the first project from this universe that has actually somewhat captured the humor of the earlier seasons of the show. I genuinely found myself laughing several times. I think…

Insanely well made. Just perfectly shot with beautiful and haunting imagery. Edited in a way that makes every frame and sound feel important. Perfectly acted from stars down to the ing ers. Downey is coming for that Oscar and maybe a couple more acting noms. Definitely tells a compelling story and uses it’s 3 hour runtime well, drags for a moment maybe a time or two, which is astonishing for 3 hours. Nolan delivers once again, and proves just why he’s held in such high regard.

Hey guys, I’ve been going through a pretty serious and stressful life event recently, so I’ve been incredibly inactive. I was super excited for this film for a while, but I was in a really rough spot when I went to see it last week and it honestly meant a lot to me in a way I’m not going to get into on here.

I had a lot of things to say about this movie, but I might go…
