I think the issue for me is Wes Anderson's style has gotten to the point where, while technically still distinct and unique, doesn't FEEL unique any more. That, and it feels like the acting has lost some of the emotion which lent things like Grand Budapest Hotel extra life. This still looks and sounds great, and the humour raised a smile here and there, but I mostly watched this from the outside, and as much of a shame as it is to say, I can see myself skipping Wes' next in theatres.
