I'm all for ginger villains and weird innovative set designs, but the pacing issues and uneven quality throughout the film really hampered this.

Can't imagine those who saw this in 1984. I would've been clueless as well without having seen Villeneuve's great adaptation... Still had fun though !

GORGEOUS animation. Even though the characters were a bit bland, I thoroughly enjoyed this. Makoto Shinkai is truly an expert at creating settings that feel so lived in.

Julie, or more-so Joana Hogg, re, reimagines, forgets and transcends her sad traumatic experience through a fascinatingly moving remembrance and piece of art. Great film.
