Oh what a great theme for a showdown! I'm a little nerd myself and I just love nerdy characters in movies, because they often take an otherwise boring story to greatness. So here are my favorite film nerds of all time!
If I could include TV series, Moss and Roy from the IT Crowd would top this list. Unfortunately I can't, but Chris O'Dowd's role in "FAQ about time travel" ist nearly as good!
Being friends with an anime nerd has it's perks. I think I'd never discovered this gem without him. In the movie computer nerd Kenji needs to save the real world by fighting an AI in a virtual one.
Again, if I could include TV series Tim Beasley from "Spaced" would be on this list. But Simon Pegg's role in Paul comes pretty close.
Being a music nerd myself I had to include this Nick Hornby adaptation, although it's all about Top 5s and this list here is a Top 10.
I hope it's no insult to people with aspergers syndrome if I call them nerdy, because I don't see the term nerd as an insult at all.
It wouldn't surprise me to find these two music nerds in the top 10 when this showdown comes to an end.
