Francis Ford Coppola's version of Bram Stoker's tale is casting a very long shadow over this one from what I can tell, but I am so frickin giddy to see how much schlock Besson is bringing to this reinterpretation. I can't wait.

Death Note

Was talking to a younger friend of mine the other day and I mentioned that I'd been on a serious old-school anime kick lately (referring to 80s/ early 90s OVAs, Japanimation and anime classics) to which she replied "what like Death Note?"

God I'm old. But that doesn't change the fact that, despite being a 2000s series (and losing steam in latter episodes), Death Note is undoubtely a modern classic.
