A film fan currently residing in Austin. I watch bad movies on purpose a lot, but I watch good ones too sometimes.

I think sometimes comic book adaptations from other eras where filmmakers were looser with the material get a bad reputation no matter what from the most annoying geeks you've ever met (see any loser who doesn't like Batman Returns), but JESUS were people right on the money in 2004 to wholly reject this.
Beyond a disaster, down to breaking basic rules of filmmaking like the 180-degree rule every few scenes. Doesn't just waste the talents of superstars like Halle Berry…
WOW. This is the Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives of the Final Destination series, a reverent remix built on what came before that builds new ideas on top of the best parts of the previous films. It’s also hilarious, and this is the best ensemble of characters in the series by far. Stunned by how much I loved this.
SXSW Movie 11: It’s always nice to see a music documentary that actually plays with form. This has the usual talking head interviews and wild archive footage, but its use of puppetry, 2D animation, 3D animation, and all sorts of mixed media matches the anarchic story being told. Among the fun is inevitable pockets of darkness, but the sincerity found by its end feels well earned.
Fair warning though, the Butthole Surfers story is extremely graphic and wild. You will see a nude woman puppet projectile shit, and there’s wilder stuff in here than that.
