Imagine making one of the most important films of all time and losing out on Best Picture to a fucking Woody Allen film.

Generally you would expect the greatest film of all time to win Best Picture, but apparently not.
Best Actor specifically, but probably Best Picture and a lot of other major categories too.

It should also have won Best Picture outright but it wasn't nominated because it's a ~kids movie~
Sidney Lumet successfully lobbied to have Akira Kurosawa nominated for Best Director, god bless him. The fact that he didn't win is objective proof that Academy voters didn't even watch this film.
And also, Best Cinematography. How do you nominate this for Best Cinematography and then not have it win? It makes no sense at all to me.
