It's fascinating that even though their famous tagline was "It's not TV, it's HBO," there were times when their series looked like movies, their actual movies looked like TV.

RKO 281 just plain looks cheap, with flat lighting and fresh out of the box costumes. Plus, the canned music straight out of some open-source library. The performances are good, but it's all staged like they are still in rehearsals.
