Not nearly as bad as people are making it out to be. This was a fun, trashy, campy slasher with questionable acting — which is exactly what slashers were in the 80’s (CC: every single Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street sequels).
Movies, especially slashers adapted from a YA book series, do not need to be groundbreaking or reinvent the wheel. This was entertaining, and it didn’t take itself too seriously. That’s all I want sometimes.
The 1.8 average feels harsh.
