A cursory and pointless rehash of the Tate-LaBianca murders that, minus the unnecessary drone camera footage, could have been made for basic cable in the 1990s. But wait: there's also evidence-free speculation about COINTELPRO and MKUltra that would be laughed off of Reddit. I can't believe Errol Morris directed this dreck.
Astonishingly comprehensive documentary about the "Bruceploitation" boom which followed the death of the Little Dragon in 1973. I've long been a fan of this much-maligned genre, but I was always puzzled by the sheer volume of product featuring the "Bruces" that was churned out in less than ten years. Was there really that much of a demand? As this movie explains, the answer was resoundingly "yes," even if the demand was motivated at least in part by deceiving unsuspecting moviegoers…
The filmmakers tried to make a hard-rock mashup of Mad Max and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but the result is grating and interminable. If you are looking for low-budget, post-apocalyptic trash, watch the visionary The Baron Against the Demons instead.
