Really great energy, and Robbie and Janney are top notch. Had issues in places but the boldness of the piece really carried me. Good stuff.

Phenomenal filmmaking, but sub-par storytelling. While McQueen pushed boundaries with visual depiction of the story, there was nothing fresh about the story itself. So while every department was operating at the highest level -- DP, PD, Costumes, etc -- it never came together as a whole. I also found the parade of white famous faces to be distracting, and the intentional emotional distance just didn't work in practice. And I loved HUNGER and SHAME, so overall... disappointing.
