I am so blown away by this film: I've never seen a vampire film quite like it in years – it reminds me of when I first watched A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night or even Only Lover Left Alive. It's just astoundingly unique, gorgeous to look at, lively, funny, and just a wonderful journey about a lonely woman in the massive, vibrant city of Bombay. The soundtrack is so special, too, as is the score from Paul Banks!! And Radhika Apte is such a delight – I'm now instantly obsessed with her and have to watch everything she's in.

The closing monologue of the film didn't connect as hard with me, but I liked the movie overall, particularly the direction of the second act. A lot of interesting themes explored, and at times wildly relatable.

Victor in the Q&A referenced 45 Years (super underrated movie) and Certain Women as influences, and once they said it, it aaaallllll connected. A solid debut.

Recapping of the series as a whole was slightly over the top, but that climax is an excellent mix of suspense and playfulness.

I wanted to watch the movie Ethan Hawke thought he was in.

Wizard of Oz, but make it extremely horny and sinister. Mia Goth, Best Actress 2022.
