Should’ve, would’ve, could’ve. Basically every movie this summer has fallen victim to these (with the exception of Top Gun: Maverick, of course). As much as it hurts to say, so does this one.
They quite literally “had us in the first half.” I absolutely loved this movie for the first hour or so. It was fun, pretty original, and really engaging. And then it fell off a cliff. It seems like the movie so heavily relied on slowly revealing plot…
I would hatef*** this movie.
Like I actually hate how much I enjoyed it. From its originality to what may be one of the funniest argument scenes in the history of cinema, this movie is surprisingly very good. I detest Skete Davidson and his presence makes me viscerally uncomfortable, but this damn movie even got me to laugh at him (“it’s zucchini bread,” for instance).
