Some clunky exposition near the beginning that took me out. Mixed feelings on a plot beat near the end.

Otherwise loved it. Thought it had much more engaging themes than the original, and has enough differences structurally and story wise to really differentiate itself.

The SA subtext is barely subtext but it resonated and was well executed.

Genuinely frightening, the opening and castle sequence in particular.

Haven't been that disappointed in a film in a long time. The first half is pretty good, if not for some awful jokes and strange editing. But the rest of the film is a complete mess. The cast is so split up for the entire film, and it really strains the relationships between the characters. And the arcs they have themselves feel very unsatisfying.
