Recovering film addict in love with dysfunctional romances.

1983
What a weird little Scottish gem Peter Riegert
(I know him for 1994’s The Mask) and Burt Lancaster (The Swimmer notably for me) nail this weird dance between greed and human connection.
It's a middle finger to progress, wrapped in dry humor, stunning landscapes and at times cosmic undertones.
Maybe we're all just chasing the wrong things, and sometimes the real treasure is just existing.
This movie is a comfy, big old blanket with a hot cup of tea and tasty biscuits.
