The Batman is an interesting amalgamation of different versions of the batman story. What I did like from the movie was the lack of explanation of how he became the batman, or rehashing the well trodden beginnings of the batman. Instead it jumps right into the story. Onward tells of a journey filled with magic and moving forward but does not sur the greats of Pixar. As usual, the animation is stellar with hyper-realistic moments but also fantasy elements blending seamlessly. You may argue that the Pixar animation style is stale, but the quality is never an issue. For a more thorough review, check out my first one of Snowpiercer. On second viewing, Snowpiercer shows how Bong Joon-Ho carefully crafts his films. Throughout the film, you see how he is setting up events without forcing unnatural dialogue. I also did not realize how many details I had forgotten from the first watch, and that's what makes this viewing entertaining. This viewing enforced the idea that Snowpiercer is a fantastic film and a recommendation for you.
