"I didn't ask to be born"

Forget the Joker, forget Tyler Durden, forget Edward Cullen, forget Patrick Bateman: Thane Furrows is LITERALLY ME

Possibly the purest form of catharsis I've ever had from a movie, I haven't felt this much at peace in a while. The premise is perfect, the bits are perfect, the ending is perfect. Small budget so it's a little rough around the corners but I think that only adds to the charm, this honestly works better being a little unpolished. You can really only get away with making a movie like this once but man it's such just a great concept

Eraserhead

Complete hogwash (sorry Julian)

There are fleeting moments where it evoked some interest in me, but I can 100% confirm after watching this that I am not a David Lynch guy. You don't get a free to put random shit in your movie that serves no purpose and noone can explain just because you're David Lynch, I don't care

The narrative structure is different, but didn't feel like a good different. Just felt frustrated that stakes were really only introduced in the third act. Respect for using practical effects for the monster though

Also an embarrassingly bad post-credits scene, had to google it after to double check that it was as dumb as I thought it was

Hardcore Henry

A visual delight, an action movie that actually makes me feel something. The antagonist is a little weird but apart from that there's a lot of great setpieces and ideas employed here to make the most of the concept

Yeah this was awesome, Elphaba a baddie fr

If I had to nitpick I'd say Elphaba is slightly too infallible of a character, and one other thing that was so minor I've already forgotten it by the time I've walked out of the theater

Theatre kids are insufferable but I also hate "I don't like musicals" mfs, literally one of the oldest forms of storytelling

I'm glad that there was so much more going on in this story than from…

Day of the Dead

1985

★★★½ Liked Rewatched

I used to say that I preferred this over Dawn of the Dead, now I'm not so sure. They're both very different films, Dawn is a lot more airy and light and kinda a slice-of-life film where you're just following their lives in the mall, whereas Day has a tighter script and a more rigid narrative structure. Day is also a lot more pessimistic hence why I originally liked it more. I don't actually have an answer right now, but…
