I am as gay as Lindsay Logan’s fiancé.

No denying I like things that break genre and tell their own story but depicting intense rape, sex and assault literally, in a film that’s supposed to demystify that she isn’t defined by sex or assault, seems like poor taste. It feels like this Andrew director dude is giving “yeah show everything so full on we can’t look away” it’s giving male gaze. It’s giving fuck off.
You must watch Cuties to have an opinion on Cuties.
It’s an interesting perspective on female rage from the mistreatment, fetishising and objectification of women that has occurred for centuries!
The most problematic part of this film is that it plays into the oppressive Muslim Girl trope, that all Muslim women feel oppressed by modesty and are forced into these traditions. I’d love to see a film not about that soon :)
If you’re sexualising these girls, that’s what the film is critiquing. End of story. Die conservative right wingers in Texas, die.
