A simple story that somehow still manages to be very confusing at the same time. Look, I respect the movie for what it was going for and it’s certainly unique going for a futuristic noir genre, but eh, I just didn’t find the movie to be that all intriguing. It just feels like there’s not a whole lot of substance beneath the impressive visual designs. That said, I wouldn’t quite call it a bad movie, but it really didn’t do much for me, and it’s definitely more of a one time watch.

A well acted and mature movie. I appreciate its progressive messages and overall it was solid. Not super interesting, but I appreciate it for what it is.

Whew that was a long one…
I don’t really know how to describe this movie to be honest. It really is the full journey of this man who got himself rich, rose to unbelievable heights, and tore himself into shreds with his poor decision making. It really does feel complete in that aspect. I did honestly enjoy the movie, even if it was too long for my taste. The movie found a way to totally engross me which not all movies can do, and I enjoyed the little gags and remarks between characters. Overall, it’s a good watch, just make sure you have some snacks ready to pull you through 3 hours.

I mean, you really can’t take this movie seriously. It’s so bad that it’s ironically funny, which I kind of already knew going into this. And even though I’m giving it a low rating, I can’t deny that it did entertain me. 
About the movie, good lord it is bad. The plot is mediocre, the characters aren’t that interesting, and the dialogue is ATROCIOUS, like some lines really made me cringe. The characters are a mixed bag. Henry, Dawn, and Natalie were all super cringy and added barely anything to the movie tbh, but Steve and Garrett were pretty enjoyable and had some funny interactions. This movie also featured a lot of tropes which was kind of annoying, and there were many things you could spot from a mile away making the movie very predictable. That said, it was still a goofy time watching this movie. Again, you can’t take it seriously.
To sum it up: From a lax standpoint, the movie is ridiculous and fun. From a critical standpoint, this movie is an absolute shitshow. Combining these two views, and I’d say it’s a 2 star movie that I “liked”. Would I recommend it? I don’t even know man just go in and have fun with it.

Honestly, a very delightful and cute film that I genuinely enjoyed. Even though the story is very simple, the movie really stood out to me and I loved it for what it was. The animation is beautiful and very impressive considering this movie was made in Blender. The water, a key part of the movie, looked gorgeous, as well as the surrounding environment of the lush landscape. As for the characters, it’s only animals and there’s zero dialogue. But there doesn’t need to be because the behaviors, movements, and facial expressions of each character tell you exactly what they’re thinking and feeling, and I really like that. Watching each character grow, open up, and learn to care for each other was really heartwarming. Each character has their own distinct personality, and I loved seeing how the animals interacted. I especially loved the Capybara, he was so chill and comionate. Overall, I would recommend this movie to anyone. It’s certainly unique and even though it’s not a mind blowing story with standout epic moments, it’s a great little film, and I’m so glad it has gotten recognition from the Oscars.

Among Us before Among Us

It’s an ok movie, nothing 5 star material like people say in my opinion, but it was in no way a bad movie. It’s especially impressive for its time, the visuals in particular. The music was also very good and eerie I must give credit to that. My main critiques are that the ending felt a bit abrupt and of course like most horror movies the characters do stupid things like split up multiple times. But hey the movie did its job of creating a tense atmosphere, and I did moderately enjoy it.

A goofy war movie that you can’t really take seriously. It’s nothing special in my eyes, but it did make me laugh many times so I gotta give it that.

Pretty good movie, definitely one worth of praise. Although it is a retelling of an ancient story, it was done well and it works really well in the animated medium. Speaking of, the animation is really good, like damn that parting the Red Sea scene was stunning, especially for 1998. The music is another strength, every piece of music is absolutely beautiful. Overall, the movie didn’t blow me away or anything, but there’s no real flaws with the film, it is overall a good movie.

Thought I’d come back to rewatch this again, and yes, it’s just as great as I it being. The story is great, the acting is great, the original soundtrack is just beautiful and really tugs at your heart, and there are many very memorable and powerful scenes that caused me to shed a tear. Adding all of these top notch components and I’d say you have a 5 star movie, with no real apparent flaws in my opinion. This is truly a beautiful movie, and I’m really surprised that it wasn’t nominated for best picture.

I can understand the messages and theme of the movie criticizing the importance of beauty and youth, and the metaphors used are definitely effective, but holy shit man the gore is extremely over the top which made the movie very uncomfortable to watch. The idea behind having two selves is unique and interesting, the visuals and effects were well done sure, but this is something I don’t think I can watch again. I understand why people think the movie is great, but it’s just too horrific for my taste.

Just a beautiful movie in every aspect, and it has become among my favorite Christmas movies to date. The animation is magical blending hand drawn with 3D animation, it’s simply wonderful. The story is very heartwarming and brings a more unique approach to the story of Christmas, and the movie is filled with quick humor as well. Klaus has become one that I watch every year, and I can’t find any glaring flaws about it. It is simply wonderful, and I highly recommend watching it if you haven’t already.

A wild ride of a movie. Constant quick witty humor and a fun and engaging plot, this movie is a fun watch and memorable for its uniqueness. I also really liked the animation and it added to the quick and energized feel of the film. Good movie, I definitely enjoyed it!

A good movie that really captures the feel of the stage with expression and wonderful songs. The cast was top notch, mostly (Crowe could’ve done better), the movie had a solid emotional impact, and it carries a good theme that the world isn’t just black and white. Although lengthy, the movie never included any filler content, so its length is how it should be. Not everyone will enjoy this type of movie, but I recognize it for what it is, and that is a powerful film.

Excellent movie, and one of the best Dreamworks animated films to date. Even with a somewhat simple story, the movie excels in every way from the beautiful animation, great characters, and emotionally impactful moments. This is a movie I feel confident about giving a 10/10 and I highly recommend it.
