So most of this review I actually wrote while watching the movie instead of after watching it all. Watched from 12am to 2am. Why is there blood in the backseat sometimes? 😧 Wow $1.85 for popcorn, a cup of off brand cola and a pack of fruit mentos or sweets. That first date with the blonde girl was kinda awkward in the beginning with the silences 😭. What a coincidence that he gets to be the taxi driver for the palatine. Dang he fumbled by taking her to that specific movie and then made it even worse by storming into her work building and saying those mean things to her face. Some of the conversations have long pauses which makes it a bit awkward but sorta realistic in a way too. Ayy he’s working out now. He seemed a little autistic when he was talking to the secret service man 😭 I don’t get why he spoke to him, I guess to find out which guns they carry but he never got the answer and he gave a fake name and address to him. Shopkeeper was so calm with the robber being shot “you got him?”. Lolll the two grandpas fighting on the street 😂. Dang man why is the girl so young and her pimp is also her bf bruh what, plus he got a long red pinky coke nail 😭. Ah man it said in the letter to iris that when she reads it he’ll be dead so is he going on a suicidal mission? Oh my, he got a Mohawk out of nowhere (looking like Mohawk mark from invincible 😂, it don’t look bad tbh especially with the sunglasses on, holy crap it looks so bad from the back tho). Why was he tryna kill palantine I don’t understand that and the security service man chasing after him and falling 🤣 so whimsical, what a clumsy man. Now he went after the pimp which makes more sense, bro didn’t even make sure he was dead and then got shot in the neck. The guy who charges for the room’s hand been blown off dang gore. Idk how he took the neck shot like it’s nothing, ain’t that a fatal shot? Ah man all that gore right infront of her, now she’ll have trauma and how did police come so soon? Alright Travis bled to death from the neck shot so it was fatal but it took some time whereas in another movie that shot would be an instant kill. Oh he made it to newspaper and shown to be a hero. Nvm he survived let’s go!! And iris is back with her parents (who are actually normal parents, her behaviour made me think they were druggies or smth) who are treating her well and she’s back to living life and going to school as a kid should. They kept travis and betsy’s second meeting realistic (and better than how things ended off last time with Betsy thinking of him a bit more positively after what he did since she read the newspaper and Travis waved off the fare so she didn’t have to pay) instead of them suddenly getting back together or something which is good. Okay for me it would be like 7.5/10, I don’t like how there wasn’t really proper plot and that had me kinda confused like yeah I got that Travis was a taxi driver often working and then started taking care of his health by exercising and then got interested in guns after what his pal and that random man in the taxi (who had caught his wife cheating) said and then started practicing shooting with them and I’m guessing he just wanted to do something drastic to spice up his life but going after palantine was very dumb and also didn’t make sense since palantine is trying to make New York better and clean some of the filth so killing him doesn’t benefit Travis in the slightest cos Travis also wanted the filth and scum of New York to be cleaned, killing the pimp and other guys actually made sense and it was nice that Travis survived tho idk how he survived a neck shot like that, I guess it didn’t hit his jugular vein.

What an ending, so that’s where dignam was huh. It was a bit relieving seeing Colin Sullivan (the mole aka Matt Damon’s character) not get away with it all. Man William/billy costigan’s (aka Leonardo do caprio’s character) death was so sudden and happened so quickly I could not believe it, I was shocked honestly, it was so unexpected and then everyone else there besides Colin also shot like a second hand version of “the shooting” SNL skit 😭, the second rat that just said he was also a rat didn’t make much sense and just came outta nowhere. Captain Queenan’s death was also kinda unexpected cos I was not expecting him to be thrown off the building and fall to his death right infront of billy, I thought he’d just be beaten up or something and knocked out idk. Was nice having Colin in charge of Frank Costello’s death and that betrayal after knowing he was a FBI informant, instead of some of the other random police officers shooting him or something, lol how did every shot frank take miss like he took one at Colin point blank and missed and then the next one missed too whereas if he was shooting someone else I know it would hit perfectly. The fact that Costello gave billy all the recordings of his voice doesn’t seem likely but I let it slide, I don’t think billy was the most trusted, I feel like it was mr French but he died in the same scene as Costello. The movie had some funny lines here and there mostly involving swear words tho, one near the beginning when billy was training with the black guy beside him and the black guy said “so she tells me “You never finish anything. You finish the police course, you get taken care of again, baby” so after graduation I get a blowjob again” and then billy says “That’s great. Your mother must be a wonderful woman” 😭. There were also some tense moments like when they’re were tryna find who the rat on the mob side was. Leonardo di caprio looked good with the goatee than without imo btw so it’s good that was kept not shaved off but could’ve been shaped better and his character development was good, the way he got better at fighting etc. Was wondering who the mob boss was gonna be when his face wasn’t fully shown while he was talking (p.s they just dropped the n bomb like it was nothing) and then boom it’s the antagonist  from The Shining. Also why did the psychiatrist Madolyn have to cheat for, I was kinda anticipating it (cos it’s common in western movies) when billy was in her home alone with her but I was hoping it wouldn’t happen yet it did, why bruh, she even said that the relationship with her bf was serious, where was her boundaries, like the boundaries literally came after they already did the deed and she told him they can’t be friends anymore the next time they met. A 4/5 star movie for me cos it was definitely more enjoyable than the other ones I see but I didn’t like certain parts. Watched from 12am to 2:30am.

NOOO! Why did it have to end like that? That criminal should not get to live freely after all the stuff he did to the women and the schoolgirl. One of the victims I thought was Detective Park Doo-man’s wife but then they showed her still alive and then there was that intense scene of the song playing on the radio and her walking out alone and the criminal watching from trees but then the schoolgirl goes past and he picks her as his victim instead. First half was pretty slow and like a 3/5 imo but it got slightly better and better as it progressed, I really didn’t expect Detective Park to be such a failure from first impressions of seeing his face in the cover pic, detective Seo was similar to how I expected tho like actually trying to find proper clues etc. Detective park had me annoyed, like I know arresting the wrong guy and closing the case would look good for the police in the media BUT it wouldn’t stop the issue and the deaths would still be happening so it doesn’t solve anything and that means the job ain’t done. The way they treated Baek Geang-Ho in the beginning was kinda funny at times 😭 like they beat him up but then try be nice to him right after to get him to talk, rip tho tragic death. Detective Park’s wife was a real one staying there for him and also in the last scene shown in 2003 she doesn’t look like she’s aged at all whereas detective park has. The scene where detective seo beat up the suspected criminal with soft hands near the train tunnel was great, felt so deserved but then the sudden twist of the dna results being not matching was like a gut punch and then you gotta decide whether he truly was the criminal or not, I honestly feel like he was cos all the signs, deaths started same time he started working there, itting to sending the postcard and suggesting the song but couldn’t what played at the end, had soft pretty hands just as shown and said about the criminal, schoolgirl was killed right when Seo slept and then opened his eyes and saw him getting on the bus gone from his sight. I genuinely feel like the semen on the clothing that was tested against the suspect’s fingerprint was like a red herring, purposeful put there of someone else’s or someone else did something and it was there. Dang I just found out it’s based on a true story that occurred in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi over the course of 6 years. Man I hated how everytime they showed the girl caught by the criminal it would cut to them discovering the dead body meaning she couldn’t be saved, everytime! Detective park left his detective career and became a business, he must’ve really felt immense guilt after hearing what that girl said right at the end of the movie about the other man who checked out that place and said he was reminiscing about his old times, I liked how after she said that they showed the wind blow and a scene of Park and the girl just looking at each other while Park is taking it all in. I was not happy with the ending, it’s not fair! 😔 I might watch a video explaining the ending since it kinda confused me but I have come to my own conclusion of the soft hand culprit being the actual criminal responsible. Watched from 11:45pm to 2am Monday early morning.

I do think this movie is kinda overrated cos it wasn’t 4 star (8/10) worthy to me. I liked the intro showing the twins life and giving some backstory along with slight Peaky blinders vibe since it’s similar time and Smoke wore a cap just like them and they were gangsters so had similarities like their reputation and behaviour (especially Smoke compared to Thomas Shelby). I had seen the “you twins?” “Nah we cousins” clip on insta before watching the movie, the only clip of sinners I had seen since I wanted to watch it as blind as possible (no trailers or not much info) and so I thought they were cousins fr but then realised they lied as a joke and they’re actually twin brothers 😂 I mean I was wondering how cousins can be identical but decided it to be creative liberty for movie before realising that they are infact brothers. It was nice how the beginning scene was actually the ending scene of Sammy opening up the church door and busting inside, I knew the movie would have supernatural elements and horror so I was expecting Sammy to kill the priest before I actually know who was who and that the priest is actually his father fr, I also thought Sammy was one of the twins when younger after they suddenly showed the twins right after that scene but then they showed that Sammy was actually their little cousin. The introduction of vampires was very sudden without any prior context, Remmick was chased down by Choctaw tribe vampire hunters (who were pretty cool characters and would’ve been nice if that could’ve been expanded upon more and they showed up again but they didn’t since the majority movie from remmicks appearance to remmicks death was during one day from sunset to sunrise. They definitely could’ve added some hints beforehand or have something hinted about existence of supernatural before remmick was shown. I assumed he was a vampire from the way he bit the husband of the couple that let him in for gold coins but baji said zombie and then they confirmed it to be a vampire by Annie, even she wasn’t fully sure at first. I didn’t like the fact that Sammy’s love interest had to be shown to be married, imo it would’ve been fine for her to not be married instead of being a disloyal wife in an unhappy marriage, I knew how it was gonna go between her and Sammy from the flirting and stuff and then her second appearance showing up again to Sammy at the juke house. I liked some suspense moments like when remmick and the newly converted vampire couple came up at the entrance of the juke house and I was waiting for the twins to meet them haha and when Mary went out to meet them (remmick jumping rlly high was so unexpected) and then I knew Mary must’ve been bit with the way she was behaving and didn’t say anything about having a weird encounter with remmick and couple. I was expecting her to bite Stacks and turn him into a vampire too which ended up happening but in a longer way (since she basically just started biting him so much instead that he ended up dying but then got back to life), it was funny the way Mary ran away after being shot and then Stacks ran out too and then I was thinking why did they run away out of the building when they can literally bite everyone inside the building and turn them all into vampires too because they’re stronger than everyone there and bullets don’t even kill them because they just heal but I guess it was for the plot, I had this same thought when remmick and other vampires stood outside the door and had a conversation with the main people and then letting them just close the door shut and locked instead of forcing their way inside. RIP nearly everyone. Asian girl had a very painful death, being burnt alive. It was a bit inconsistent how some characters lost their character personality partly after becoming a vampire like saying “we…” and also how one of them asked for an invite before entering when he didn’t need to and could’ve just came inside as usual but then Stacks still being nearly the exact same but being a vampire. The teeth change was a helpful visual difference showing who’s a vampire. The eating garlic scene was also good, it’s like the scene in the Thing where heat was used on their blood and it’s also common in movies with humans being infested by some creature. Remmick and the other vampires randomly doing a whole musical outside and dancing was kinda funny. RIP Smoke but he had a good death tbh, i didn’t get why he took off the good charm thing until seeing a short vid on yt explaining his death and that he most likely wanted to die to meet his loved ones, I didn’t think the bullet hole would’ve been enough to kill him but it was, he dealt with the ku klux klan people and the guy that sold him the building (I think) and then met Annie again along with his baby who had died (as souls meet after dying in this movie). Post credit scene was great, showing Sammy much older now most likely in 90s so he’s like 70yrs old playing electric guitar blues with other guitarists and then Stack and Mary reappearing! I thought when remmick was killed all other vampires would die but I guess not plus how did they both survive the sun just by running into the woods, I’m guessing they dug down or found some shelter to hide into from the morning sun. Smoke spared Stack (didn’t have the gut to kill him tbh) and idk why Stack didn’t try bite him then since he did try to earlier. Idk why no other vampires decided to run into the woods too if that’s how easy it would’ve been to survive but PLOT. I think it’s a fairly good movie to perhaps rewatch, even partially or watch an explanation of since some scenes had deeper meanings that need to be unpacked.

What the hell. This movie was one of the craziest experiences I’ve had recently. I watched it in 1.5x speed cos I started at 1:10am and didn’t wanna sleep too late, finished by 2:25am. Neil’s whole life was messed up, from him being a kid (his kid actor looks a bit like kid asa butterfield) and staring at his mum’s bf and then his experience with the coach during the summer, he got groomed and everything and it changed his whole life, during Halloween party he forced a kid to hold fireworks in his mouth and then he lit them up and some parts of it stabbed the kids mouth and then he diddied him as a way of comfort since that was he had learnt from personal experience and then after that at 15 yrs old he’s a male prostitute selling his body to random old men for cash. I was not expecting this type of movie at all 😭 one thing I can say is that it’s definitely unique but gosh dang. Also Neil’s actor made me think it’ll be like comedy plus the bio talking about aliens so it’ll be like mystery etc, I was not expecting him to be a gay prostitute. Most of the scenes were uncomfortable to see but some parts were kinda funny like the fact the first guy had gnawed and bit him down there 😂😭, Another guy being all dominating and stuff at first but then he gets on all fours and becomes the bottom 💀 telling neil to bum him and then the guy with scars getting pleasure just from Neil rubbing his back. Also Neil got STDs as expected, use a condom bruh, idk why he didn’t consistently. Then he also learnt his lesson to not trust all old men when that final guy was rough with him, made him bleed and then left him on the street. That girl Wendy is such a good friend, I think she liked him as a kid before knowing he’s gay and then it stayed platonic but as the movie said she’s like his soulmate and she cares for him so much but he doesn’t seem to care as much back (like not sending post cards, not staying safe from STD). The other gay friend Eric was also a good friend to him, cared about him and wrote post cards to him too and then befriended Brian and was chill with him. Brian at 15 also kinda looked like Ross lynch when he played as Jeffrey Dahmer, his story was different with him forgetting certain hours of his life on two occasions and then believing he was abducted by aliens and then trying to research more about it and even meet this woman Avalyn (who was probably around his age but she looked quite a bit older like late 20s 😂 just her facial features NVM I rewatched the scene and it said she’s 32 when introducing her on the aliens TV program, dangg so old) to ask her experiences about it since something similar happened to her too. In the end it gives that big twist that during the hours removed from memory, Brian was actually just sexually assaulted by his coach with Neil there too. Neil truly feel bad for Brian and wished it could be magically undone which ain’t possible even tho for him it was a big part of his life and he thought of the coach as the first love of his life. So that means Avalyn must’ve also been sexually assaulted during her life and that also explains why she randomly started fiddling Brian. Idk what her scar was and I also don’t get why Brian’s nose bled multiple times (they explained why it bled the first time but it also bled other times and after the Halloween day and also while Neil was telling him the truth) and the random blackouts and how did he get to the cellar? Pretty sure he was left outside on the driveway. Also why did Brian randomly start resting his head on Neil while being told the truth, I guess he just wanted comfort from the painful truth he was being told. What was that UFO flying over the roof scene cos it couldn’t actually be one since by the end we know it wasn’t aliens. At some point I was thinking the aliens were freaky (kinda like the ones from Dandadan) and they did something to Brian and I guess it’s half true cos something freaky happened but it wasn’t from an alien. Also I don’t understand if Brian’s dad knew about what and felt guilty and didn’t wanna tell him so he ain’t reminded cos when Brian confronted him and asked him about it near the end he didn’t say anything or maybe he truly didn’t know.

Watched from 12am to 1:20am. To me it’s like a 3.5 star movie but for its time it’s definitely 4 star minimum. I love the concept, it’s unique and has that sense of mystery and horror, I feel like it should maybe be remade with all the new technology and CGI now and it’ll be a great movie. It was quite a slow start with the person in the helicopter trying to kill the dog that’s just constantly running at the beginning and then the crew slowly discovering the Thing. I decided to watch it in 2x speed 40 mins in and that was a great decision. Blair’s crash out was a bit too extreme like I understood his thinking but then why’s he wildly shooting anyone like relax 😭 and tell them what u found out instead. The corpses still being alive was a great addition to the horror and the blood test scene with the heated wire was great. It’s a bit funny how the monsters don’t transform until they’ve been revealed and why do they transform for anyways? It just exposes them and doesn’t even help them much. Idk when Blair got infected cos he was literally locked in the cabin but I guess one of them broke in and infected him. The black guy wandering on his own after seeing Blair drag one of the other persons body was so dumb like why did he try solo investigate it for? He could just shout what he saw. Not a bad ending, I’m guessing the monster dies and we don’t get closure on the final two humans but realistically they probably die too out in the cold. The ost was good, especially the little thump beat sounds that I could hear directly into my ear while wearing the headphones inbetween the main beat.

Started watching at 3pm and finished at 8:16pm since I had taken some breaks inbetween. This movie was better than the first, as expected. It fleshed out Paul more and gave him his character development of truly embodying himself as Lisan al Gaib. It was nice seeing his growth and the scene where he rode the sand worm was really cool (he magically got goggles on while riding the worm which he wasn’t wearing previously). I was also wondering how does he get off the sand worm once done? 😭. Was also nice to see his eyes eventually become blue. The mother also had her character development turning into the Reverend Mother and spreading the prophecy of Lisan al Gaib to the other Fremen, becoming more strong minded and valued highly by other fremen, her eyes also turned blue but it happened right after drinking the sand worm blue poison so it wasn’t gradual as it should be. It’s funny how her daughter speaks to her even tho she was initially just a fetus like she didn’t even have a mouth developed at that point 😂 but tbh no logic can explain it anyways cos how can a baby in a womb speak to their mother. They’re gonna cast Anya Taylor-Joy for the daughter, Alia Atreides, and there was one scene of her talking in a vision but she’s like the same age as Timothèe Chalamet so idk how they’ll do it. Rabban aka the actor who plays Drax was shown to be so weak in this movie. I felt like the romance between Timothee and Zendaya was a bit rushed like they just ended up kissing and sleeping together whereas before that they were still getting close to each other and weren’t THAT close but it makes sense so it doesn’t take up too much time and then ofc she starts opposing his decisions of moving forward and accepting himself as Lisan al Gaib plus she was defo jealous when Paul said he’ll take the hand of the emperor’s daughter. Austin Butler’s character was an absolute psycho and that woman from the Bene Gesserit tested him using the hand in box pain thing and then ended up having sex with him right after 💀 cos she said she’s secured a daughter from him and rubbed her belly 😭 crazyy. What else was crazy was Austin Butler’s character Feyd-Rautha and his uncle Baron kissing on the lips 😨. Them two have a weird relationship cos Feyd just casually cussing him like he said “I should drown you in that tub” but Baron didn’t rlly mind plus when Paul killed Baron he didn’t even do anything 😂 but that was very satisfying, they all just watched him get killed. The reveal of Paul’s mum being the daughter of Baron was quite a plot twist that I wasn’t expecting but it doesn’t change any events tho like he ain’t gonna start befriending the Harkonnens cos of that. Paul vs Feyd fight seemed very close and they seemed pretty equal but then for movie sake the opposition Feyd ofc gained the upper hand but then ended up dying at the end, also such a missed opportunity of not including The Voice power during the duel like Paul used it against the other Reverend Mother when he said “Silence!” so he’s gotten stronger with that power and can use it well. The emperor getting humbled and having to kiss Paul’s blood filled hand 😂. Now Paul will become the new emperor and the movie ended with Chani (Zendaya) luring a sand worm and about to ride it. Also I found out the first dune book is from 1965 which is pretty insane and the author did a good job with the futuristic and sci fi elements. The fremen are definitely inspired by Arabs and the prophecy of the Mahdi inspired by Islam.

Watched from 12:45am and finished at 3:47am early Saturday morning after Friday night had ended. Was definitely an introductory movie and labelled part one so makes sense, whole movie is set to introduce and guide us towards the main part of the movie which will most likely take place in the second movie and third (idk how many total movies there will be but I’m assuming the third is the final). I wish I could’ve watched the second movie right after too but I don’t have the time for that or else I’ll be up till 7am. Maybe I should’ve watched it in 2x speed. I like sci movies and I liked the dragonfly helicopters, was a cool design plus a superpower which isn’t too commonly used, The Voice just like Toge from Jujutsu Kaisen. I liked the way they kept foreshadowing the future by the dreams and visions however it is a bit unfortunate we don’t get to see them happen in present tense, it’ll happen in the second movie. I’ve also been spoiled of the main character Paul turning evil like Luke from Star Wars and Eren Yeager so I know that’ll be coming in the end of second movie or in the third movie, they also showed one vision sorta indicating to that with him leading the war. Sometimes the visions were a bit confusing and I couldn’t fully understand them. The veiled old woman senior to Paul’s mum was pretty weird and I didn’t understand why she did all that for but then still talked down about him. Also the voices of everyone talking was kinda quiet for like the first 45 mins, they just all spoke softly sorta and I’d be kinda screwed without the subtitles, plus subtitles are essential cos there’s moments where they communicate with no audio at all, with sign language and in a completely different made up language. RIP Paul’s father (ik the actor from moon knight and he looked good with the beard), the doctor betrayed them and sold him out for freedom of his wife but just ended up getting killed instead and “ing his wife”, it looked like he was paralysed but idk why he was in that position and naked, his enemy (the fat bald guy)’s body figure is so peculiar and unique 😭 the scene where he flew up and you see it all was hilarious and it’s very annoying that he survived the poison, probably just cos he flew all the way up to the top of the high ceiling. RIP Duncan too but his service helped the main ppl, RIP Dr Kyle too but at least she lured in a worm and had them eat her and those that attacked her. The blue eyes are so vivid and unrealistically blue but I like it.  🧿👄🧿 Sandworms seem too OP like once it starts coming towards you, you’re doomed unless you can get in the dragonfly helicopter and fly away, Paul and his mum only survived cos of plot armour, the worm was just staring at them idk why before moving to the thumper. Also the storm scene where they magically reach over 5000m altitude was also very much plot armour but oh well. Was nice to see Drax’s actor (from guardians of the galaxy). Paul also had some pretty good drip btw.

Watched on pc from 12:30am to 2:20am cos it’s 110 mins long so imma count it as Wednesday cos it became Wednesday after midnight ed. Wasn’t expecting it to be a Chinese spoken movie (there was also a bit of Hindi and Japanese). The scenes with the Indians was kinda funny sometimes cos I could understand what they were saying. But man I’m disappointed with this movie (it’s given 4 stars on Letterboxd) and feel like I wasted my time but at least it checked off from my watchlist now 😭. I enjoyed the first half ngl, plus a clip from the first half is what made me add this movie to my watchlist anyways (the clip of him saying we broke up on april fools so I thought of it as a joke and then buying canned pineapples with expiry dates of 1st May), his ex also called May lol and initially I thought her birthday was on 1st May and that’s why she’s called May but actually it was the guys birthday that was on 1st May, 6am to be specific. He decided to jog during his birthday so he rids his body of excess water so he has no water left to tear up. Takeshi Kaneshiro who played the first cop called Qiwu also looked pretty attractive like a Korean idol type guy plus was young and he had decent pick up lines too, talking with that woman at the bar 😂. I thought the wig woman he decides to fall in love with looked like she was in her 30s, he turned 25 btw, plus she’s part of drug smuggling and he’s a cop. Not a good mix at all. Anyways it was nice that nothing excessive happened and since she was tired he let her sleep in his bed and then watched two old movies while binge eating a couple meals, so he was a nice guy with no bad intentions but that wig girl defo ain’t the one. Pretty sure it didn’t even become a relationship since she left after waking up and shot the white guy. He gotta take a break since he’s so heartbroken from the breakup and I feel bad for him cos he said he was with May for 5 years and then they broke up cos he didn’t understand her enough, but once he’s had some time off and fixed his mind and feelings he can probably find another better suited girl easily due to his personality, being talkative and caring. Also there was too much aggressive desperate kissing scenes, two of them and I was thinking wth is this. The first one I know for sure it hurt cos it looked like they got pushed into the wall and bounced back 😂. Anyways 42 mins in it switches main characters to the second cop called Tony and a girl called Faye and this part had me confused and a bit bored, I couldn’t understand what was going on and it sorta makes sense cos it’s not relatable to me at all but also cos it’s meant to be viewed through the lens of emotion rather than logic so not everything can be made sense of. Before watching the movie I had seen Faye on the poster of Letterboxd so I was expecting her to be with the first cop (I didn’t know it was gonna switch main characters midway to the second cop) or that maybe she was May, his ex before they revealed her name. Plus I was hoping it would switch back to the first cop after some time and it never did 😪, I preferred the first guy over the second (I’d probs give the first part 3.5 stars and second part like 2 stars, second part felt so long even tho it was just 1hr). The second cop called Tony seemed older, maybe 30 and had just had a relationship with an air hostess he seduced ended and then Faye falls in love with him (cos the narrator says that early on) but there’s no big hints while she’s there with him initially and idk the exact moment she falls for him but she does enjoy hanging out with him and then she just started sneaking in to his house and cleaning and renovating it as she pleased and also acting childish, immature and a bit weird 😭 like jumping on the bed and playing with the stuffies and toy aeroplane and then tryna collect a piece of hair from the bed and then getting excited when she did. I think it was hair from his ex aka the air hostess anyways. He also starts falling for her eventually. Then when she’s caught in the house she gets shook and when Tony cop actually invites her to a date at a California bar she doesn’t end up coming (well she comes but 45 mins before the time he said and then decides to leave the country and go to actual California in USA for a year). So that’s why the love wasn’t like obvious but she defo loved him to be renovating his house but too shy to just say it to his face. Btw Faye seemed young like close to the first cop’s age therefore there was also probably a fair bit of age gap between Faye and second cop. The ending was odd and I didn’t rlly understand it, like does she wanna be with him or not and she’ll be going away again soon so it’s not like they’ll be together. Also what’s with the second cop and him just not wanting to open any letters 😂 like he didn’t want the letter from his ex and I wonder what it said in it, I’ll search abt it after writing this review cos the way they showed it in the movie wasn’t clear so I couldn’t tell and then he wasn’t gonna read the letter from Faye and even chucked it outside and then it rained heavily and that’s when he decided to take it back and open it up while it soaked fully. It didn’t matter much anyways cos it was just a drawing of a boarding on paper. Final thing, gosh dang the song California Dreaming was played SOO many times!

Watched it from like 8pm to 10pm on 1.25x speed too on goku but it kept buffering. First I watched it on my laptop and Aliza was watching on pc at the same time and then we decided to both watch on the pc together. Has chilli and lime xcut crisps, cookie dough ice cream and popcorn while watching. The beginning was a bit confusing like when Nobu randomly stabbed the teacher and ran away, it was so unfair that the teacher could kill students (such as throwing the knife onto the face of the girl cos she wasn’t listening) when they had newly arrived to the island cos I’m pretty sure it was outside of the rules so it wasn’t allowed but he still did it and wasn’t even punished or anything. Rip the other teacher. Once the battle Royale started it wasn’t well organised, like we didn’t know exactly what was going on and much more slow paced compared to the first few minutes of the hunger games match, it did show people stumbling upon each other and fighting but we didn’t know what they were thinking as much as it showed in hunger games. I really disliked the bully girl who ended up dying to the machine gun guy (and the fact that she tried to swing even after being shot soo many times was not realistic AT ALL) but then it showed her backstory and it wasn’t a good childhood so understandable sorta, the machine gun was just crazy tbh 😭, I didn’t get why kamada helped the main guy and girl for like there wasn’t really a reason other than for plot. Some of the deaths were so gruesome and sad cos they were fully innocent. I hated the poison girl whose action ended up causing the massacre of all the girls in the lighthouse, it was so annoying to see them all killing each other not knowing who was behind the poison and then the poison girl just jumped off and killed herself cos she couldn’t bare with what she caused. Surprisingly a lot of the girls liked the main guy. The coding guy was smart and did well but it was unfortunate that his plan didn’t fully happen cos he got killed by the machine gun guy, ALSO why was the machine gun’s ammo never ending? Just constantly kept being used throughout the whole movie and not running out. The ending was a bit weird like I didn’t understand how the three managed to leave and then also get the boat 😂. The teacher wanted to be killed and somehow lived for an extra two mins before dying even tho he was shot so much, we were laughing when he got back up. Ofc the kamada guy ends up dying 😪. The dreams were also bizarre, the reverse bouncing of the ball with the ball bouncing higher and higher each time was a bit funny and we didn’t realise at first and then I was like oh that has to reversed and also the main girl walking with the teacher on the rocks having ice cream together talking abt the knife that nobu used to stab him. I found out there’s a second movie too which takes place 3 years later and the main girl and guy are terrorists but it looks to be a flop and worse than this movie so imma not watch it. Also irl the main girl was like 14/15 acting as a 15yr old girl and the main guy was 17/18 also acting as 15 and the machine gun guy I think was the oldest kid being like 25 but acting like he’s 15 or smth, like school age you know. Also what even is the actual point of this whole battle Royale and how’s it allowed? Like in hunger games there’s a reason for it but here they just say Battle Royale Act and don’t even properly justify and that makes it so dumb.

I guess I’ll put the date as Monday since I did watch it from 1am to 2:50am and Sunday became Monday after midnight. I’d say it’s like a 3.5, maybe even 3.75 rated for me since it’s Jack Quaid who I’m sorta a fan for so a bit of personal preference bias since I’m a fan of The Boys and he’s the main character in that show. His role reminded me a lot of Hughie so that added in to that and honestly it was a pretty solid movie and if I saw it at the cinema I think I’d be satisfied, there was lots of action, some comedy, gorey parts (like his arm being broken, hands being burnt, the torture scene with his fingernails being removed and the blood from all the fights and also stuff like him breaking his thumb which isn’t gore but still gives a similar feeling while watching, like you’d grimace) which was a bit hard to watch sometimes and also moments where I was anticipating gore but nothing actually happened (like when he first ate the pie I thought maybe it would show he bit his tongue and some blood comes out his mouth or like when the car was gonna crush his head I thought it might be worse than it was but it just caused a bruise on his face). I was kinda expecting Zach Cherry (the actor of Dylan from severance) to be the online friend cos it sounded a bit like him when they spoke through the headset but then it ended up being Jacob Batalon (the actor Ned from Tom hollands spiderman) and that also worked out well tbh cos he had some funny moments and I guess he fit the vibe. Ofc there were some flaws with the main one being not fleshing out Sherry’s backstory and her relationship with the robbers and her brother, we know she was adopted and it wasn’t a loving home (which means the parents probs weren’t there for her or maybe beat her up along with their son since he turned out kinda crazy) and she said that she also didn’t kill anyone (it was the brother who would) but we didn’t know exactly how innocent she is, my guess is she used to be the driver since she was good at driving during the ambulance chase part. Also it was wild how fast the brother switched up on her and was willing to shoot her close up and then shot her while she ran away and then she was also willing to shoot him too later and they fought with both tryna kill each other. That part when we found out sherry was the guys sister was a very good plot twist honestly. Oh and also when she was like laughing and conversing with Nate’s bully I felt bad for Nate fr cos I thought she actually was interested in the guy but then she made him drink the hot sauce shot and Nate and sherry ran out together that made me feel relieved cos it meant she wasn’t betraying him during the art gallery date. Also after the final fight Jack Quaid (Nate) randomly had a front tooth missing but then the tooth was back after the 1 year time skip and sure it could be a prosthetic tooth but then I feel like if I was the director I’d either just not have him have a missing tooth after the final fight since it would be back to normal afterwards orrr add a scene which shows him being punched and a tooth falling out like slow mo (since that wasn’t there so it made the tooth being lost not have much value) which would make it better and he could have it fixed after the 1 year time skip. Watched it on living room pc on my own while having popcorn and squash. Also I seeing the trailers a while back (this YouTube video at the beginning of 2025 which was showing trailers for films coming out in 2025 within the next few months) and for some reason I ed the trailer having a plot of the girlfriend dying and novocaine trying to hunt down the killers and kill them so during the movie I thought maybe sherry was gonna die after being kidnapped but that didn’t happen ofc and she ended up being the sister.

So it’s raining decently at 2:12am while I’m writing this, I finished the movie at 1:48am. The beginning binocular scene had me confused the first time but then rewatching it again the second time (after I finished the movie I realised it was the riddler watching the male mayor candidate through them). The leitmotif of Batman is stuck in my head now cos it was used soo many times. I think Robert pattison did a good job doing the Batman voice like when he was talking in the beginning while it was showing the crimes happening in the city. I also liked how when Batman was fighting a crowd of ppl like in the beginning against those spray painted clown face guys he would sometimes take a few hits from others while fighting the guy infront of him which made it more realistic but it didn’t rlly matter anyways since his suit is so incredibly tanky that he probs didn’t even feel it, all it did was make them get batmans attention so Batman can switch from whooping one guy to the next. His suit was literally bulletproof, loads of bullets got shot at it and nothing, the shotgun did some damage but it was more to do with the energy and impact and the shotgun shells didn’t penetrate. Nice having Gordon back. I think the black around Bruce’s eyes looked rlly well when he wore the Batman mask but when he took it off and it was still there it looked a bit bad 😭. Predicted that the woman was gonna be catwoman since she wore leather suit and also had long cat like nails (at first I just saw it as long nails which was enough to tell but then I realised they shaped just like cat claws). Idk what the exact relationship between selina and annika was but she defo cared for her, I thought she was her gf for a bit but then I thought nah maybe she just takes care of her since annika was young and Selina said she was just a kid so I’m guessing she was like 18-20. It was a very unique beginning, jumping right into batmans second year with no backstory and the riddler being an interesting villain leaving riddles and puzzles to decipher. They took a unique approach with Bruce’s parents which helped make it different to the previous Batman movies. They did a lot of scenes with some sexual tension making it look like Selina and Bruce were about to kiss but they didn’t, such as when Batman looks into her eyes after she puts on the lenses (having recording lenses was rlly cool btw and makes it like a more modern interpretation of Batman with newer technology) and then the second time they were super close to each others faces and I thought they would since Christian bales Batman kissed women so often and then they didn’t but then she ended up just suddenly kissing him, also near the end before Selina leaves their faces are rlly close but nothing happens. They really juked us with the phone ringing while Alfred opened up the package for Bruce and it exploded cos I was wondering whys he ignoring the phone calls but then it’s shown that Alfred actually opened the package and the explosion happened an hour before the phone ringing. At least he survived, michael caine’s Alfred can’t be beat tho. Also I feel like the person caught wasn’t actually the riddler and it was the old man that spoke to him at the church (which Bruce attended for the mayors death) and then the guy he started hitting a ton after taking the green liquid for energy since he was on the brink of ing out and Selina suddenly got attacked because that guy was breathing heavily and the riddler also breathed like that whereas the guy caught as the riddler had no breathing problems but maybe it was only with the mask on, idk. Also I think that was joker next to his cell saying the friend riddle and then laughing hysterically, both of them together. Also the final part of the movie when the vans exploded felt a bit rushed, it was a very long movie (3hrs long) and during that part it felt like it was ending especially when the music drowned out all sounds. Batman randomly swinging to one of the cables and then cutting it so he fell down into the water was so odd, idk why he did that other than a quick way to go down and then he helped the ppl down there and held a flare to light the way and led them out. The ending was okay and Selina ofc had to leave and couldn’t just stay in Gotham with him 😭 but will probs be back in future movies and there will defo be a sequel since that was just his second year as Batman. I think the sequel will be released next year or 2027 tbh, it’s been 3 years already so it’ll be coming soon. No Batmobile or batbike like from Nolan’s Batman yet, there was a normal motorbike which I guess can count as batbike and then there was one scene with the unique turbo car which I guess can count as Batmobile but it was blue and not black. Would rate it a 3.75 if I could.

To be honest I quite enjoyed this movie along with its ending even tho it didn’t make much sense but I gave it the benefit of the doubt. A lot of the scenes had to be given the benefit of the doubt tbh 😭😭. This movie was more similar to the first movie than the third and Bane was an excellent villain who’s just rlly tanky and strong. I enjoyed Bruce wayne coming out of retirement and being active again and returning as Batman, I enjoyed the first encounter of Bruce and Selina (cat woman), Bruce fixing his leg with the strap thingy didn’t make much sense but I didn’t question it and I’m also confused how no normal citizen asked about it since he walked with a cane before. It was a bit upsetting seeing Alfred leave Bruce in the hope that he’ll change his mind and try to change Gotham for the better without being Batman and risking his life. Didn’t like the fact that Bruce slept with martina (bro just sleeps with all women and doesn’t care). Disappointed in catwoman for betraying Batman but the showdown between Batman and bane was pretty good, Batman was yelling for the first time (saw the famous scene of bane saying “you think darkness is your ally? You merely adopted the dark, I was born in it. Molded by it…”but Bruce still got beaten up pretty bad and then sent to the prison bane lived in which wasn’t even all that bad tbh. It was a better prison than the one he was in for the first movie before he became Batman, no guards, there’s food, the ppl weren’t bad and even a tv. They showed three ppl hung which I initially thought was mr fox, Martina and Blake but it wasn’t. Bruce having his vertebrae punched back into place and fixing his back by rope in prison was also another thing I chose not to question and I liked how Bruce failed the jump a few times before doing the successful attempt since that made it a bit more realistic plus ofc there were bats flying out during his successful attempt lol. His return was satisfying to see, seeing the reaction of Catwoman, Gordon, Blake and Bane when they see him again. His new flying vehicle was also rlly cool btw. Seeing Krane again was amazing, mostly since I’m a big cillian Murphy fan (due to Peaky blinders) and since I rlly thought he would’ve be shown again. His scenes were kinda funny with him being the judge and making the person decide whether they want the punishment of death or exile and exile is forcing them to walk on this ice sheet and if they fall in they die since the water is freezing. Him saying “death… by exile” to Gordon was pretty cheeky. The plot twist of the child that climbed the prison hole being martina was kinda surprising but it made sense and bane was the one who protected her but got beat up badly so that’s why he wears the mask. I wonder how he looks without the mask. Batman won the second fight between then due to attacking the mask this time which sorta incapacitated bane till martina stabbed him. The detonator scene was pretty intense. Also it was very surprising seeing Quinn’s actor Desmond Harrington and he literally played a dumb cop again 😭 ordered to blow up the bridge if Blake walked any closer cos he was scared abt the atomic bomb exploding. Bane being taken out by the batbike gun by catwoman in one shot was odd cos he’s never shown again but I’m pretty sure that ain’t enough to take care of him but oh well. Batman and catwoman teamed up and took down Martina and the people with her. It’s funny how the gun from the batbike took out the enemy Batmobiles with one shot whereas batmans Batmobile was so tanky. Loved how Batman revealed his identity to Gordon by saying a statement Gordon had said to kid Bruce so he knew it was Bruce Wayne instead of just straight up saying he’s Bruce (same way he revealed to Rachel before) Batman flew his air vehicle carrying the atom bomb the bay down towards the ocean while kids in the bus and Blake watched him and then came the mushroom cloud as the bomb exploded out at sea (isn’t there radiation effects after the explosion even larger than the explosion radius but oh well, they said the explosion radius was 6 miles but it defo looked smaller) and it presented Bruce Wayne as being dead with his will being read and Alfred standing at his grave saying he’s sorry and then it showed a scene of Gordon seeing the bat signal light thing and patting it, Blake finding the batcave and Alfred going to the cafe on holiday and seeing Bruce Wayne with selina Kyle on a table (which was Alfred’s wish). I have no clue how Bruce survived but okay 😭😭. And then credits!

Definitely a unique movie. It’s pretty much all in reverse so you see a scene and then learn the reason behind it later on as it shows the context afterwards with some black and white scenes of Lenny talking to the phone (I still don’t get what was so bad abt talking to the phone and why it was shown to be such a big deal with the tattoo that said don’t answer the phone). Crazy plot twists, first I knew either teddy or Natalie was lying, one had to be and it ended up being Natalie who was the same actress as the female lead in the matrix, anyways she told him to his face that she’ll use him and say whatever she wants cos he’ll forget soon anyways and he couldn’t write it down since she took all the pens and then he ended up forgetting what she said which was so annoying! Seeing the scene I saw on insta reels of him running after a guy and then being like oh wait he’s chasing me was funny and nice, was a pretty good scene tbf and made me wanna watch the movie in the first place (along with its high rating and the fact that Christopher Nolan directed it). I hated the ending cos it just messed everything up, firstly Sammy wasn’t the way Lenny depicted him and Lenny just thought he was that away when in fact the stuff he was saying abt him was actually his own memories, he said Sammy would give his wife insulin shots and she ended up going into coma since she tested his short term memory loss by making him do it repeatedly to see if he’ll but the truth is Sammy had no wife and Lenny’s wife was the diabetic one. Also Lenny‘s wife never actually died and teddy (officer gambell) had helped Lenny find the guy who had cracked his skull and r*ped his wife and Lenny killed him so ‘the one’ he was chasing in the whole movie was already dead and Lenny also nearly killed jimmy grant (who I think was Natalie’s boyfriend and for some reason he stole everything from him 😂, his car, his clothes, his gun and his money). The biggest disappointment was the fact Lenny wrote “don’t believe his lies” on the back of teddy’s pic HIMSELF and he wrote teddy’s license plate as fact 6 on purpose just to continue the chase and he ends up killing him as shown in the beginning of the movie even tho teddy helped so much. I feel bad for him, he was a true bro who helped him and was with him most of the movie but got killed due to Lenny himself plus Natalie who gave a copy of the license which had the same license plate on it ofc plus his name being John Gamell (J.G), RIP 🪦. Watched it in the living room computer from 11pm to 1am, no subtitles in goku so used enorme/sflix and subtitles worked in mega cloud server and baji also stayed and watched for like an hour, had a packet of popcorn and spicy chilli flavour kurkure both of which I shared a bit of with baji. Time to sleep now. Also this is defo the time of movie to rewatch with the new knowledge you now know. Teddy didn’t deserve it bruh 😔.

It was an interesting movie, didn’t feel too long despite it mainly being in one setting, the room where they talked. It started with the 12 guys being the jury and having to vote on whether this 18 year old who had allegedly killed his father was guilty or not and it started with 11 voting guilty and 1 not guilty and they spoke and eventually the man who voted not guilty had convinced others to also vote not guilty to the point it was 11 not guilty and one guilty and then even he voted not guilty so it was 12 men voting not guilty. I liked the way some points were proven such as the identical knife scene (I saw this scene on YouTube shorts btw which made me wanna watch the movie even tho it was already on my watchlist since baji had watched it and told me abt it), the old man walking 12 feet from his bedroom and then 43 feet down the hall in 15 seconds tho he walked on a limp so when recreated it took 41 seconds and the woman witness wore glasses yet said she saw it happen while in bed and glasses aren’t worn when tryna sleep in bed. Martin balsam’s character at first didn’t even seem like he was part of the jury but instead some sort of staff since he had that sort of role such as doing the voting and calling the guy outside when getting items about the case such as the layout of the apartment or the knife. John fielder’s character had quite a high voice but he played the somewhat smart but also kinda vulnerable character well. E.g. marshall’s character was all about the facts so his thought process was clear and easy to understand. Lee j.cobb kinda looked like sylvester stallone, I didn’t understand the reason he changed his vote cos it was so sudden and he just started crying. Jack klugman looks a bit like Ahmed Shah the Afghani workman. Jack warden’s character had an expected personality as in it was expected one of them would be like that, kinda loud, kinda tryna be funny etc. Joseph sweeney kinda looked like an Indian old man even tho he’s white, ig cos it’s black and white. Ed begley’s character was so annoying, kept shouting and it was funny seeing nearly all the men get out of their seats and stand somewhere else while he talked 😂 it made him quiet and then a guy said he can’t talk anymore and it was nice not hearing him shout anymore but I still don’t get what made him change his mind from guilty to not guilty when he was so adamant the 18yr old was guilty. Ig the peer pressure kinda of no one listening to his shouts and that made him change his mind. George voskovec’s character was foreign but idk which country exactly and he was pretty polite. Robert Webber’s character was easily influenced and initially he’s shown to be talkative in of sales stuff but then when he’s given the spotlight with them all looking at him he’s quiet and didn’t say much like when asked why he changed his decision of guilty to not guilty. It was my first black and white movie and a movie this old, 1957. I liked the small side talks like in the bathroom and when one talked abt the game of his team he coached being interrupted by the rain last November similar to the current rain. The hot weather was genuine cos they were proper sweating and then suddenly lots of rain lol. The ending was them walking out and then big writing saying “The end” in the middle like how an old movie would end. Watched alone in the living room on the computer at night from 10pm to 11:30pm, had a cup of slanty and a packet of popcorn while watching.

So I watched it at like 11 smth pm and ended by 1:17am in the living room by myself since it’s a Thursday night. If I could rate it a 3.75 I would but since that’s not an option imma do 3.5 cos most of the scenes before the main action and after the action ends are like 3/5, pretty mid and sonic’s personality isn’t the best when he’s messing around having fun instead of saving someone and being serious but then some of the action scenes were like 4 or 4.5/5 but that’s just parts of the movie, not the whole movie so that’s why I’d rate it like that. Anyways I knew robotnik aka eggman was gonna have a relative shown in the movie and I thought it was a twin brother but then it ended up being his grandfather and it’s crazy how he’s 110 years old but still moving around and fighting lol, both played by Jim Carrey and there was a scene they said “it’s like both characters are played by the same actor” which ig is sort of a fourth wall break. They added a lot of makeup and prosthetics to make him look older and both had the classic moustache (kinda like the Pringles moustache now that I thought abt it). Anyways I wasn’t expecting eggman robotnik to have the endgame Thor treatment with him becoming fat and ungroomed with long hair and eating fast food and watching cartoons. Sonic, knuckles and tails were surprised he was alive which I forgot abt since I watched sonic 2 a few years ago so I forgot he “died”. I didn’t like the scene of eggman and his grandfather dancing through the lasers cos the song just sounded weird to me and I wanted the scene to be over while watching 😭. In this movie they showed shadow arrived to earth in a capsule that crashed to earth from space and then was tested by scientists whereas in the lore he was physically created by eggmans grandfather using the DNA of Black Doom (I haven’t read much abt him yet but he was also an antagonist of sonic in the lore). He had a fairly sad childhood constantly being tested and stuck in a chamber of liquids and doctors afraid of him until a girl, Maria who is the granddaughter of eggmans grandfather befriends him and takes him out of the chamber and they spend lots of time together but then suddenly they’re chased by army and one of them shoots something explosive which ends up killing Maria and shadow has like a future trunks moment where he sees future Gohan’s dead body but without the turning super saiyan part. Anyways shadow is crazy strong, beats knuckle, sonic and tails and then when sonic turns super and fights him shadow punches the emeralds out from him from a single punch which is CRAZY. And then Shadow also turns Super becoming Super Shadow which was so cool (him being a lighter gold almost white is a rlly nice design) must’ve been a hype moment from the audience in cinema and at first is easily beating super sonic but then super sonic starts getting hits in and it’s more equal (kinda weird powerscaling but oh well). Seeing super sonic and super shadow team up was EPIC (this is what I meant by the 4 or 4.5/5 scenes btw). Eggman ends up fighting his grandpa since the grandpa is tryna destroy the earth and eggman doesn’t want that to happen and he actually ends up sacrificing himself to save Earth which is a 180 degree shift from his original personality. Grandpa eggmans death was kinda funny since he’s thrown into energy field and then that’s it, he’s never shown again. Rip eggman and also shadow was pushing the ship at the same time and it exploded and ended up looking like a supernova in the sky so rip shadow too. I was thinking to myself how cool would it have been if there was shadow and sonic fusing together becoming Shadic but that can’t happen now since he was in the explosion and died UNTIL I decided to check for end credit scene and saw that he survived! The scene got stuck btw after the first 2 seconds so I had to check it on YouTube. Also seeing Mecha sonic near the end was pretty nice and then the amazing reveal of Amy as she bashed all the mecha sonic clones. They always make new character look so strong in their first appearance, also I think the main mecha sonic survived her attack. I wonder who created them tho since eggman is dead now. Also I do believe this movie is the best out of the current 3 so far. There will probs be more movies and it’ll not just be a trilogy. That’s all! Time to sleep now.

I WROTE A WHOLE REVIEW BUT DIDNT SAVE IT AND WHEN I OPENED THIS APP AGAIN IT WAS GONE AHHH. I forgot the stuff I said 😭.
Imo this was a pretty good movie with good graphics and idk if it was fully hd or not but good enough quality to watch, defo better than the cinema recorded quality however it did keep buffering every now and then and I had to wait for it to load. Watched it at night in the living room and papa was also there watching his own stuff. I like how it showed Mufasa’s and Taka’s childhood and the way they end up meeting Sarabi and Zuzu was originally Sarabi’s assistant sent by her father and then they meet the mandrill as he was kicked out the baboon tribe he lived with and they make their way to Milele. The villain was pretty good and adding white lions was so cool. I didn’t like how there was songs every 15 mins sometimes not fitting the moment fully and the brother (pronounced bruhthaa) song was funny idk why they said it that way and the bye bye song was pretty popular. The original Lion King 1994 also had songs often so it’s okay ig but those songs were better. Taka had a different accent which then ends up changing when he’s being mischievous doing smth sly or evil. I didn’t get why he got in the way of kiros (the villain) attacking Mufasa so he took the paw hit for Mufasa which then made him get his scar only to then be evil again afterwards (I asked chatGPT this question and it gave me some answers 😂). Mufasa’s reunion with his mother was a bit underwhelming. Also I love the fact they added in Kion (tho unnamed in the movie) at the end as they present the newborn baby to Kiara and say it’s her little brother since I used to watch the lion guard when I was a young kid. I like how they had the movie take place in the present with Kiara and the mandrill Rafiki was telling the story of Mufasa to her (sorta like dexter original sin in the first ep they show Dexter being driven to a hospital after he was shot at the end of new blood and then he’s ing his past so it starts showing 20yr old Dexter). Also taka’s childhood was not SOO bad that it justifies or gives some sort of reason for him to become the huge villain he becomes in Lion King as Scar so putting that aside I rate the movie 4/5 but otherwise I’d do it a bit lower since it ruins Scar by adding this childhood into it which makes it confusing as to why he became so evil. Also they are blood brothers in Lion King 1994 but in this they’re adopted brothers with Taka being the kings son and therefore having royal blood whereas Mufasa didn’t. Anyways that’s all and as it’s 23rd Jan while I watched this on 22nd imma watch Sonic 3 today and write a review on that later. It’s 11pm so I’ll be sleeping late.

It was a unique experience since I haven’t seen a movie like this before. The animals kinda looked like 3d vr and there was no talking, just animal sounds. I had seen some reviews before watching and one was they watched the movie with their son and there were moments where the son was asking “What’s happening?” which I definitely agree with because you can’t fully understand what the animals are thinking and why they’re doing something like when the secretary bird caught the cat and then flew rlly high and dropped the cat into the ship instead of earlier when it could’ve dropped it into the ship from a lower distance and some other moments. I was also so amazed when it showed the secretary bird for the first time since that bird never rlly shown in media and it’s such a cool bird. It’s like set in a post apocalyptic world with no humans yet there’s human remnants and suddenly water just starts rising and the cat and other animals go into a boat and it’s just their journey on surviving basically. I didn’t like how the cat would sometimes just suddenly run into a different place away from the main crew just leaving them behind, the dog grew on me since in the beginning it was part of the others chasing the cat but then it started tryna be friends with the cat and helped it out. The lemur was just doing his own stuff tbh not rlly being friends with the others and always tryna protect his basket of human stuff (a mirror, glass bottles etc). The capybara was the best, in the beginning it seemed very laid back always sleeping but then it would help out the cat and others whenever needed. The secretary bird suddenly stood up for the cat against the other secretary birds and then got beat up by the alpha (kinda sad) so it ed the boat but it seemed to only to do so to reach the other secretary birds again (since it couldn’t fly properly at the time as the wing had gotten attacked). It was rlly good at steering the boat ngl. Anyways there were also fantasy moments which were confusing like when the cat and secretary bird were on a rock thing and suddenly water drops start flying around them and they start levitating and it’s like rainbowish colours around them and the bird ends up flying into a bright thing at the top and vanished whereas the cat started falling and went back to the ground, also while the cat was on the ocean tryna get back to the boat, suddenly leaves started rising from the water and then land and there were trees and a piece of land suddenly rose under the cat which isn’t realistic at all and had me confused. I also liked how there was reoccurrence of items and animals such as the ball always showing up, the dogs were shown again and the whale which had fantasy elements to it such as spikes and extra appendages, it was sad how it was stuck on land at the end of the movie but then there was an end credit scene where it’s swimming in the ocean again. The cat and other animals discovered it and then the cat sat next to a puddle looking at its own reflection and the dog, lemur and capybara also decided to do so and looked at their own reflection and then it ended like that. Another sad moment was when the cat discovers lemurs living together and tries to find the lemur from the boat but none of the lemurs were that lemur and so it walks away feeling sad but then the lemur from the boat suddenly comes from the side. I liked how they saved the capybara from the boat when it started falling (flip the other dogs except the main one since they started chasing a hare they saw instead of helping) and I also liked the cat finally catching and eating fish and I wondered why it didn’t do that earlier. Also the budget was 3.7 million dollars which is crazy cos I thought it could be made for much cheaper 😭😭. Btw I watched it in two days, 55 mins yesterday and then the rest 30 mins today.

Watched during the night from 10pm (then got distracted and started using my phone midway cos I recorded the snow and then ended up using it) so I ended up finishing at 2am. Interesting movie with a bittersweet ending. I liked the beginning introducing Leon as an amazing hitman with him going after the fat guy and his iconic sunglasses and hat but then changing into a normalish but orderly guy when he’s back in his apartment and takes them off. He’s got a pretty strict routine doing the same things regularly which Mathilda ends up doing with him too. I feel bad for the death of her younger brother but not so much for the others since the dad was abusive and rude and older sister was rude (but not a crazy amount) and then the stepmum just didn’t care much abt her but she didn’t seem too bad. Mathilda ended up wanting revenge on the guy in charge of the shooting and wanted to have him killed or try kill him herself. Mathilda also looked like Milly Bobbie brown in a scene inbetween beginning and middle lol. Also she’s the woman that was with Thor in Thor and Thor: Love and Thunder (she ended up having mjolnir) and she was genuinely 12/13 during the movie while acting as a 12yr old. I wish the dynamic between Leon and Mathilda stayed as a father figure/mentor and daughter type of relationship but instead she started saying she loves him and was tryna make it romantic 😭 annoyed at the screenwriters for that. Also they should’ve made her dress up more as she should for her age, like I get she came from an unorthodox family and low-key rebellious by smoking weed and cigs (even tho she’s just 12) but they could’ve made her dress better later on while she was living with Leon. The teaching scenes were interesting but now I’m wondering how she shot ketchup or sauce out of a sniper and pistol 😂 sauce pellets or smth? Also the scene where she drank alcohol and then burped and started laughing a lot must’ve been a blooper they left in the Final Cut cos she was laughing rlly hard and Leon was just straight face 😂😭. Rip Leon but he was prepared for that to happen since he was strapped with bombs and blew up the guy who killed him who was the guy in charge of shooting Mathildas family (accidentally killing the brother). The brothers death scene was weird ngl, he randomly gets out from under the bed and starts running and then later show a scene of the guys saying they didn’t need to kill a 4 year old too, I don’t think the body was even shown but he clearly was shot by a stray bullet, the other kills were all intentional. And at the end the plant finally gets planted in grass so it can get roots and Mathilda will be raised in the school experiencing a more normal childhood than her original childhood. Was thinking abt watching Moana 2 or Sonic the hedgehog 3 or Mufasa movie initially but they weren’t HD so I picked Leon.

Watched it at 7/8pm to 10pm. Pretty decent ending with joker being captured and Harvey dent dying (so he couldn’t commit more evil acts) but Batman decided to take the responsibility of dent’s bad actions so now the public and cops are gonna hate Batman which I’m sure will be relevant for the third movie. I didn’t know the line “You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain” and “an unstoppable force meets an immovable object” were both from this movie and I had seen the nurse joker scene with half faced Harvey dent but didn’t know the context at the time so this time I understood what was happening. Rip Rachel, it was kinda unfortunate since Batman said he’s gonna save Rachel and the police went to the other location but the joker had lied in the way he said the addresses so it was actually the opposite way so Batman saved dent and Rachel died. Dent then started looking like Gus after he was blown up and Dent somehow survived the hospital explosion, wasn’t explained. Ig the joker just let him go. The overall audio of the movie was kinda quiet on Goku for some reason even tho I had the fluffy headphones on. Rachel also kinda cheated on dent by kissing Bruce even tho she was with dent and later wrote in the letter she loves dent even tho in the past she said she’d be there for Bruce whenever. I didn’t want her to be his main love interest anyways lol. Scarecrow didn’t have much screen time and was dealt with early on into the movie. It was mainly abt Joker and him being a menace which Batman had to deal with. Also the scene where Joker blows up the hospital and then the explosions stop halfway and he starts pressing on the button a lot and then suddenly there’s an explosion and he jolted and ran into the bus and the rest of the hospital exploded was kinda funny since it was improvised on the spot and it was nice seeing it with the full context. Rip the batmobile but hello to the bat motor bike and also the black Lamborghini was nice and he nearly revealed his identity there to Gordon since he was Bruce and not Batman in the scene (saving them from the other car crashing in on the van). Oh yeah also Gordon being alive again was a nice surprise, I genuinely thought he died which was sad and felt untimely for his character but yeah he’s still alive. I liked most of the plot in the first movie with the build up of how Batman came to be more than this movie but Joker was great acting and he did cause a lot of problems and the ending was better in dark knight than Batman begins. I’d rate the first 8/10 and this one 7.5/10 if it was out of 10 instead of 5.

Overall a pretty decent movie. I made nachos to eat while watching the movie (finished the plate 6 minutes in and made some more but it didn’t last long cos I finished them 20 ish minutes into the movie lol) and had some squash too. Watched it on the computer in the living room at night again, 10pm to 12:40am. Pretty good introduction showing his origin with fear of bats and the death of his parents and then how he travelled fighting jail mates as a sort of justice but then learnt under one of Ra’s al ghul’s men who ended up being the real Ra’s al ghul (Liam neeson’s character) and that’s how he gained his fighting skills and then it showed the whole process of Batman being born. Scenes of Bruce Wayne with the suit were kinda reminiscent of Patrick Bateman since he spoke in a similar way too. I liked how Batman revealed his identity to Rachel by repeating the same line she told Bruce Wayne instead of just outright saying he’s Bruce and she understood. I also liked the scene of Batman using the hallucinogenic drug back on scarecrow and he started seeing Batman as a talking bat gargoyle instead adding onto the fear of Batman. The main plot was fairly good of Batman dealing with the city’s drug problems and arresting one of the infamous mob leader smuggling drugs and then some of the drugs had hallucinogenic effects that would alter your perception and make you see your fears and this was poured into the water system and was gonna spread all over the city but Batman was able to stop it from being activated in the main water system under Wayne Towers. Also scarecrow was an amazing villain, with cillian Murphy doing an amazing job (however I am kinda biased cos Peaky blinders is one of my fav shows and he was the main actor for that tv series). I didn’t like how the big main villain was Bruce’s own mentor (Ra’s al ghul) who he learnt the fighting skills from. The ending was really good, building it up for the next movie as there was unfinished business with scarecrow and people from the asylums still out and about and there was also a lovely teaser of Joker’s appearance with Gordon (the police officer, lieutenant if you wanna be specific) telling Batman that there’s a new man causing trouble who’s also quite into theatrics and left behind a symbol which he showed Batman and it was a Joker playing card inside an evidence bag. I gotta watch the second movie someday soon, it’s too late for today since it’s 1:14am now as I’m writing this. I’m sure fans at the time were really excited waiting for the second movie (it came 3 years later 😭).

Bit of a confusing movie and the beginning scene was kinda crazy, had to skip cos of the sounds (well Aliza skipped it cos I watched it on the living room computer with her). Very nice animation once again and overall a fairly good ending (tho it was still a bit confusing). The cat was such an opp for no reason until the ending when it became a keystone again and also the other cat/keystone randomly possessing the aunt making her aggressive was kinda odd since it wasn’t bad (it ended up helping a great deal near the end against the worm). The worm popping up was still pretty random. Anyways pretty good movie overall.

Sorta realistic with the stuff AI assistants can end up doing and with the big corporate company having legal power over you not letting you bring any evidence to light and silencing those who try to do so by death. The ending was realistic but sad cos in the end she lost all her fame and nothing really changed for the AI, in fact it gained more personas so it got more popular with more people using it (giving it access to their whole computer leaving them with no privacy) and the main girl just went back to using the AI assistant and picking her ex boyfriend who ended up one of the personas weirdly enough. Watched it on the iPad in bajis room with baji and Aliza.

The overall plot was kinda mid with an alien creature (called a xenophage or symbiote hunter) hunting down venom cos they have the codex (which is a key that frees Knull - the father of all symbiote and if he’s free he’s gonna destroy all life on earth) and then running away and then eventually a big finale battle with many symbiotes being freed and attaching to random people (but then they all ended up dying) and then more of the xenophages come to earth through portals and venom does a big self sacrifice by holding the xenophages (surprising how he held them all so easily) and then letting himself get rained down by acid rain killing him with the creatures and he released eddie brock and there was a big explosion but Eddie survived (low-key surprising since the explosion was right next to him) and now he’s just a regular human with no powers. It ends with memories by maroon 5 playing while Eddie brock walks towards lady liberty 🗽 while ing moments with venom (cos venom said he wanted to see lady liberty) which was a bit sad cos rip he’s gone now. Also there was an end credit scene (after 12 mins of credits) which showed the bartender running and a glass vial with blue electricity cackling which I don’t understand. Also the family scenes added a new element different than the usual army vs alien drama so that was kinda interesting and they also added them during the big finale to sorta raise the tension but they all ended up safe so it’s okay. Mrs Chen being rich was a nice twist. Also 3rd movie on the computer in the living room at night, papa was awake in the room the whole time this time watching drama episodes during the movie and before the movie I watched ep 2 and 3 of dexter original sin so I’ve been sitting in the seat for like 3hr 30 mins, ears starting aching a little from wearing headphones that long (it was nice taking the headphones off and letting my ears rest). The ending wasn’t that solid, they showed the real Jordan belfert who announced the entrance of Jordan belfert and then leonardo dicaprio came up on stage and then started asking the audience “sell me this pen” and they all started describing features of the pen and he moved onto the next and boom end credits (he was looking for someone to create the demand needed so supply meets that demand e.g. write my name down, oh I need a pen to do that etc), his wife divorced which was kinda sad and they fought about it and then he also went to jail for 3 years but anyways the movie was pretty hectic, lots of crazy stuff happened in the beginning/middle, drugs and women and he kept being disloyal to his first wife and his second wife (who was Margot Robbie) by having sex with random women and also cheated on his first wife with Margot Robbie who he later married. Matthew McConaughey was only there briefly in the introduction and that scene was pretty popular but then he never showed up again. Anyways the movie was pretty crazy showing fast paced, very haram life of Jordan belfert and how he grew in money along with his goofy friends. His life near the end of the movie was a bit sad tho cos he fixed himself up and was sober for two years yet still got caught by FBI and Margot Robbie divorced him so he was by himself after cooperating and going through his jail sentence. Also I don’t get how the FBI got ahold of the post it note saying he has a wire unless Jonah Hill’s character betrayed him and gave it to them but idk why he’d do that. The scene when the effect of the lemmon 714 quaaludes kicked in, the cerebral palsy phase 😭😭 and he started driving and then took the phone from Jonah Hill’s character and then saved him from choking. Anyways that’s my review.

Watched it on the computer on my own in the living room at night (9:30pm to 11:46pm). It was an interesting movie for sure and it was nice watching it again and actually understanding the plot this time (Tyler exploded his condo so then he starts living with him and then they create fight club which then leads to chaotic stuff and main guy wants to stop). A bit nostalgic seeing the part where the main guy (the narrator) starts beating himself up infront of the boss cos I ed that scene (from when I first watched the movie) but now it made sense why he did it. Also the “I’m Jack’s…” references were funny (he started making them after he read the book which was about organs speaking in first person like “I am jack’s colon” for example). Also the moment he realised him and Tyler Durden were the same person was a really nice scene but it made some parts of the movie weird and confusing (like he was the one who poured the acidic thing on his own hand and he was the one continuously banging Marla when it seemed like it was Tyler). After he found out, the movie just started being pretty chaotic and then he shot himself in the cheek to kill Tyler Durden, his alter ego, and then the ending was a bit weird cos the buildings ended up blowing up anyways (even tho he was tryna make it not happen) so nothing really changed and it ended like that with the main guy and Marla holding hands and pixies - where’s my mind? playing in the background. So a weird ending but the first half of the movie, basically up until he finds out he’s Tyler was really good imo, then it became chaotic (kinda similar to the end of American psycho where Patrick Bateman started running around outside being crazy). Anyways that’s my review.
P.S: was also nice seeing Jared Leto with that bright blonde hair but he wasn’t that important of a character.

I had to switch to 3 sites cos the first kept getting stuck and going back to the beginning and then the second randomly got stuck, third worked fine 😌. The ending was mediocre showing the reunion and kinda awkward between wade and his gf or ex gf 😭. The start was pretty funny and had the bye bye bye song that’s been popular recently, also very bloody and quite a bit of gore especially in the white snow but it wasn’t too bad for me. The main reason for Deadpool to do everything and get another universe’s Wolverine was also kinda underwhelming BUT the rest of the movie showing them two together and their fights and all was fairly fun and enjoyable. Also quite a few cameos and it was nice seeing the WOOIMABOUTTOMAKEANAMEFORMYSELFHERE scene from Channing Tatum. Deadpools 4th wall breaks were also pretty cool.

There were funny moments that popped up kinda regularly.
I also wondered why did they cast Margot Robbie and Ryan gosling even though they’re so old and why wasn’t the main characters younger actors but oh well.

Loud music at moments which drowns out the dialogue so I wish there was subtitles.
The explosion had a delayed sound which was realistic.
There was cool visuals at moments related to space and stars, black holes.
The plot behind Robert Downey Jr’s character’s thing to make Oppenheimer seem bad and disloyal to USA was a bit confusing at times.
