So I had been putting this one off because it seemed like it was such a strange premise and I am leery of awkward romance stories. They hit a bit close to home if I'm to be entirely honest. I am happy to report that I thoroughly enjoyed the film and thought it was very insightful about the authenticity of emotion and the artificiality of labeled relationships. Also pleasantly light on the phone sex.

This film makes no sense if you view it as trying to be realistic. Thankfully none of the actors tried to take the content seriously so it made the entire movie come of as a parody of action movies. It was super light and made me laugh more than most movies manage. The tone made it feel like I was watching a cartoon, and I'm alright with that.

For me the characters seemed very paint by the numbers, and maybe the simplicity of humanity in the face of advancing technology was kind of intended, but whatever the intent the reality was that it made it kind of boring.
